M3 to Z06
Anyone gone from M3 to C6 Z06? If so, thoughts? Regrets? Would you do it again?

I would go M3 to ZR1. Don't waste your time on a ZO6.

I had a C6 Z06 and sold it only because it was impractical at the time I owned it. Simple fact is the M3 feels extremely slow compared to it, as the Z06 is faster in EVERY performance category all while getting better gas mileage. The Z06 was speed that never wore off, no matter how often you opened it up. The kool-aid drinkers here will say the interior sucks because that's what they read, but I wouldn't say our M3's interior is exactly cutting edge.

Don't waste your money on a ZO6??? I dont understand that comment at all. Sure go ahead and spend 120k on a ZR1 or 90k on used one. You can buy a Z06 for 45k-50k used and put 10k into it and it will rape a ZR1 all day long!

I had my Z06 and M3 at the same time. No comparison when it comes to performance. The M3 was very nice and I would buy another, but the Z06 is a crazy mofo. I loved it! |

After i sold my E46 M3 i test drove 7 E92 M3s(DCT and Manual) and test drove one Z06 and came home with a Z06
My goal was speed mainly, N/A speed at that. If you're into speed and handling Z06 is your car. If you're into slow cars with an OK interior then M3 is your car.

Will be garage queen, only comes out when I want to go fast and occasional track days. The one I'm looking at has cam, headers, exh, heads, IM, TB, and tune. The video of its wicked idle is what's whispering in my ear...

I have never experienced a Corvette, but during my college days in California, I used to look upon it fondly and wondered how it felt like to drive one. Too bad they don't make right hand drive models or I might get a used sample just for experience sake.

I do agree with you on the seats. Im upgrading those with some caravaggio seats along with steering wheel which will set me back about $4k but then i wont have any complaints about the car after that. At the end of the day, these 2 cars are in totally two different worlds.

If you are looking for a garage queen/weekend fun/track car you will most likely enjoy the performance and handling of the Z06. It is a beast. If you are used to German engineering/styling/build quality you willl not find it in the Corvette. |

I've only had German M sedans for quite some time, minus the Boxster S when it first appeared in 2000 (had it for 4 months) and I no longer need the room. Just THINKING of trying something different...

Exactly, a nice head/cam package with catless exhaust and you're good to go. The car also stays NA and you can be proud to own a real 427 if you appreciate that sort of thing.

I have a c5 z06 and that is more fun to drive than my m3 by far. I can't even imagine the c6 z06 with 100 more hp
