DCT Issue

When I'm using the paddle shifter to down shift from 3rd, about one out of every 10 shifts will go from 3rd to first. The same happens from 4th straight to 2nd. This never occurs when I use the shifter in the middle to down shift. Any ideas?
Thanks

You have aftermarket paddles? Or has the car ever had aftermarket paddles?

Do you have all functionality in the LH side of multi function buttons?

Yes, there are aftermarket paddle shifters on the vehicle. I put them on about 9 months ago. The problem started maybe 6 months ago.

Wow 3rd to 1st sounds like a horrible glitch... depending on how fast you.are driving, could be ugly.

I would say you need to disassemble and clean the contacts on the left shifter module, and/or check for pinched wiring. It’s a strong guess the problem is due to installing the aftermarket paddles.

Dct won’t downshift if the revs are too high and will over rev the engine

Yeah but there are times when going to first from third would be under the rev limit but not good for the transmission..
