DCT transmission clunk 2nd gear
Hello All -
I recently picked up a very clean 2011 E92 from another member. The car only has 51,000 miles and I even did a transmission fluid change at my local M performance shop (MNC Performance in NY). I notice that when I'm rolling at a low RPM in 2nd gear and roll on/off the gas the car clunks and makes a sound. I took my local mechanic for a ride in the car and he thinks it could be the driveshaft coupling/flex disc. I suggested engine or tranny mounts but he doesn't think so. Any thoughts?

Could try replacing the tranny mounts, they're cheap ($44 total for both) and very easy to replace. I replaced mine at 105k miles and the old ones were definitely a softer than the new ones. There's a DIY here: https://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1264788

Just a thought... anytime you open up the transmission (e.g. fluid change, filter replacement, etc.) you are suppose to recalibrate the transmission/clutch. It’s a pretty simple process if you have a Foxwell code scanner or similar tool. It basically resets the clutch pickup and pressure. Shifts definately feel more precise after performing the calibration. You may want to ask the shop if they recalibrated the clutch, or find a buddy that has a Foxwell scanner. It takes about 2 minutes to perform the procedure.
