Staggered 19F/20R fitment on E92?
Hello all,
currently running BBS RGRs on a 2010 E92 - RG759H (19x8.5 ET 32) on 245/35/19 front, RG779H (19x10 ET25) on 275/35/19 rear. (It really irks me that I can get a BBS RGR to match the specs of the OEM GTS REAR wheels, but not the front...) I bought these wheels used from someone on here (they have been refinished since), w/ 90% PSSs (same sizes except 265 rear) on them. I didn't mind the slight bit of stretch on the rear too much, but I want the tire to fit the wheel - so when the tires wore down, I went one size wider on the rear (now brand-new PS4s all around). I am running Eibachs, E36 bump stops & shaved strut mounts, and spacers (15mm F, 12.5mm R). I would really like to maintain the factory stagger of 1" wider in the rear - so, has anybody attempted to run a M4 CS/GTS-like staggered setup? 19" F, 20" R? Considering BBS LMs on PS4Ss - LM434 (19x9.5 ET 22) on 265/35/19 front, LM297 (20x10.5, ET 15) on 285/25/20 rear. Any advice? Experience? Certain predictions of doom? Has anybody fitted M4 CS/GTS wheels, or a different-diameter staggered setup to their E92?

A) you want a 265/30-19, not 35, unless you like rubbing
B) I can't think of any reason it wouldn't fit...but C) ...this is normally where I would ask why you would put dubs on one of these cars but the civic type R is a thing now and nothing matters anymore so hey why not D) But why not just run a square 19" RGR setup - the RGR is the pimpness and with a rear spacer, would really look awesome. 19x10" or 19x9.5" all around with a 275/30-19 is a fantastic option for these cars. I can't think of a single reason to stay staggered. I used to "like" staggered setups on the street, and I've been through several, but a few years driving on square setups cured me of that. Running a rear spacer with a square setup helps build some understeer back into the setup, and you can rotate tires, and if you're careful with tire choice (which you are, PS4S is great for this) you don't really lose any steering sensitivity E) And if not that, for BBS money, there are SO MANY awesome forged wheels available in cool staggered 19" setups. F8x fitments work great on these cars with a small spacer, if you want off-the-shelf, or the custom companies have stuff to I mean jesus it's like the golden age of 5x120 big boy wheels it's not going to get any better than right now with all the new BMW's going to 5xScrewYoumm F) But I bet your proposed setup would look sweet too, like a hotwheels E92

Surprisingly I think they look better than the BBS FI I usually have on the E92. There are some pics in the 'what have you done with your car today' thread. PM your cellphone and I'll send them. |
