Oh got it StripclubDJ - how about we both go to Buttonwillow during Thanksgiving w/SpeedSF?

Also ran into Steve from EAS

Was good enough for 3rd place in our Speed SF challenge, S3 class (similar to Bimmerchallenge B3)

I faced a lot of traffic as I ran in their slow advance group (OP2) to not hold up people. It was my time at Buttonwillow. Should have run in OP1.

StripclubDJ Sadly, I was in a different run group. Didn't see it happen but saw the damage

I usually run fast advanced (OP1) with SpeedSF, but since this was my first time at Buttonwillow I didn't want to hold up my fastboi friends. I ran in slow advanced (OP2). We have S2000s and supercharged BRZs running 1:54-1:57.

In hindsight, I should have run OP1. I was stuck most of the time in traffic and only got clean laps maybe 1-2 times per session.

You were more than fast enough for red group bro

How many track days have you done?
1:58 is seriously impressive bro

Omg that fix.. woww. He told me he'd just limp home

StripclubDJ thank you! With this car I bought in early 2017, I've done 31 events. Before, I did ~10-15 events in past cars like the 2x LSB E46 M3s I owned, my VW GTI, and my first car, a slow ass E46 325.

They're doing a fun little feature series, so some pics of the old cars are here https://www.speedsf.com/blog/2020/4/...ofiles-ken-yip

ATF is a hydraulic fluid. :-)

Actually surprised it doesn't spec CHF11S, the viscosity is nearly the same as ATF.
Lol. I know. I was just reacting to your pentosin link. When I still had the SMG transmission, the hydraulic actuation used pentosin. I think different models might have used pentosin in the power steering as I had an option to specify ATF or 11S when I bought a replacement lid.

Curious, what are you non-rollbar folks doing for GoPro/action cameras for mounting in-car.

It looks like Blendmount has something nice that goes on the rearview mirror but it's a tad pricey IMO and I kind of like being able to see driver inputs on top of what's just out the windshield.

Thanks! That looks like a good option too...no vibration issues? That thing with a long arm screams I'll be shaky although I wouldn't be surprised if you couldn't also shorten it up.

And before my excitement sets in I have to remind myself I have Recaro Sportsters and not the OE seats so no headrest post to mount on.....doh!

Yeah very stable with the gopro7 I was using - this video is from one of the bumpiest tracks known to man...

Always the windshield mount options but I like being able to see the driver too on the forward facing view. Can you maybe get something in this style and use pipe clamps to tighten in to the seat (this one for Aim though)?

That does look plenty stable enough. I wonder how it would look on a rear seat headrest post....probably too far away if I had to guess and would get too much interior and not enough out the windshield.

Still good to know about some of those options.

I use a roll cage mount for the driver view (no help to you there) but use Tackform Solutions suction mount for my main camera view. Its rock solid, their mounts are very high quality

Last post about power steering, but my IG algorithm gave me this ad, and I thought their branded wrist sweatband was hilarious.
