Does this pressure plate look right, no self adjusting lock

Should a new pressure plate for the e90 M3 have the self adjusting lock in place? I should be seeing a piece where the throwout bearing would be, right? It's just weird that everything looks in its original packaging and this Luk 03-102 repset is supposed to fit the e90 m3. Nothing on the packaging warning to only remove lock when installed that I have seen on other Luk SAC boxes.

The first pic is from ECS tuning who I think doesn't usually use stock photos. The second from eBay where who knows if its a stock photo.

Anybody have an answer as to what a correctly packaged kit should look like?

My BMW mechanic is telling me that the lock has been removed on mine and therefore cannot be used. Could my lock have dislodged in shipping?

You most definitely should have a self adjusting lock in there.... I just did mine with an engine swap. As for it falling out during shipping, highly doubtful, they are hard enough to get off trying.

Darn nobody knows if the e90 m3 pp should have the self adjusting lock in place? I'm not seeing what I'm expecting locking on the pp springs but its in the original packaging? If someone could tell me one way or another, then I'd know of a good source for flywheels and clutch kits for A LOT less than I've seen many others quoting.

Ah yes thank you for replying! Very good information. So must've been some sort of bad batch in manufacturing? I wonder if I exchanged this for another it'd be correct with lock in place.

Did you happen to also use the Luk Repset kit as I did or another brand? Thanks

I bought OEM from BMW, which was LUK in a BMW box.....

Ok so anyone searching in the future here's the deal. Pressure plates are still definitely supposed to come with SAC lock. If your shop knows bmw's well then they may have invested in a tool that can redo and install a clutch with no SAC lock. My shop did.

All in all brand new flywheel and clutch job on a 2008 m3 cost me $2200 out the door.
