Question Speakers pop, stereo dies when adjusting i-drive Nav settings??

Just wondering if this is a regular fault with 08 M3's premium sound or something? Took a road trip over the weekend and while adjusting the Nav route I got a loud pop from the speakers (scared the shit out of me!!), music died for a few seconds, then came back as normal. Happened a few times during the 200 mile trip!! Any ideas??

What is the production date of your M3 (look at your driver's door lock jam label)?

Your OEM amp could require replacement... there is a service bulletin on the Premium OEM amp for your production date. The OEM amp lacks a fan and thus it overheats and then it cuts off, the replacement OEM amp includes the fan.

Tell your dealer that you amp is cutting off and overheating and refer to the service bulletin, they should know what you are talking about.
