750i for $999/month?

I just got an email from Town and Country BMW saying they're offering 2009 750i's for $999/month 39month leases $0 down. $104,900 MSRP, selling price is $77,557.00 at 4.9%.

This seems like a RIDICULOUSLY good deal... I kinda wish I was on the market for a car!!! I've heard great things about the new 7.

I think these type of deals are partly because of the strong canadian dollar...they were probably on @1.30 USD f/x when priced and now it is @1.10. or similarly eur was like 1.70 and now 1.55

But why would you want a 750 over an M3?Maybe when I am 80 and can't hardly drive any more. That is not a car for an enthusiast!

probably not the car for me at the moment either, but if i had some kids i was regularily transporting or if anyone is looking for a nice car for the wife, this is a nice machine, the twin turbo V8 is a beast.

and you gotta admit that is a deal...i wish i was paying that for my M3!

If I want something that is large and non-enthusiast oriented,I would get something like a large SUV or another F150 that can at least tow a proper load.Large sedans are an extremly non functional vehicle for myself. The new 750 is a nice car for somebody that only needs a sedan.

I am toying with the idea of an X5 diesel.I had a ML320cdi as a winter driver in 07 and loved the engine, but hated the rest of the vehicle and it had a few reliability issues including the 8 liters of oil deposited in the drive.Probally it will be another F150.

My dad has an 06 ML500 that has been bulletproof.. but I do have to admit I HATE the old COMMAND system.

I find the X5s a little less "rugged"...Mercedes is more in the truck business than BMW (the G glass for instance), didnt the original X5 owner's manual say something about "not going offroad in this vehicle"?...probably best off with a F150, or if you really liked the 320CDI engine, its also found in the Jeep Grand Cherokee isnt it? Not that Jeeps are built all that great, but for what you pay, not a bad option...

Have you ever driven the Jeep with the diesel? It is no where as sophisicated as the the ML320cdi is.Tons of engine vibration and the 5 speed auto seems to be at odds with the power delivery characteristics of the engine.Plus Jeeps tend to be crap boxes quite quickly and those short little seats that have almost zero support.

That was true with the last gen ML's that were based on a truck chassis, but the new ML is a unibody construction. Also I think that large SUV's are far less practical. They just seem bigger on the outside, often NOT offering much more room on the inside. If you have ever sat in a 7 series(especially the Li's) there is alot of leg room! Cavernous trunk too! Worst case scenario is cara like the Hummer, Explorer, Tahoe, etc. Huge on the outside but kinda feels cramped when inside.

Yeah, that's totally different. There are way too many people driving around in huge SUV's and their tow hitch never gets used for anything. That is who I was reffering to...

unibody or not, the mercedes suvs will be better offroad and for towing than bmw, as they have way more experience in that field. my dad has a 5000lbs trailer with his ML that you hardly even notice when its hitched up, and I've taken it offroad up at our cottage and it does surprisingly well.

Try being an Enthusiast on our beautiful Montreal roads with potholes at every 50 meters and a cop at every corner just waiting to nail you.
Driving a sports car in Montreal just isn't what it used to be...

I'm 30 and a i think that a nice white or black 750i with the Sports Pack that sports 20" Rims and some tints isn't too shabby if you ask me...
And on a side note 0 to 60 on that thing is actually quicker then my E93 M3 not that 0 to 60 really matters... But i'm just saying this thing is definitely no slouch.
