Had the car maintenance detailed yesterday. With the coating I've been using ONR rinseless wash but when it's real dirty a rinseless isn't suggested. I vetted five different detailers before I had my guy in Charlotte who applied the coating reach out into the cquartz community to find someone. Ended up getting some recognition from cquartz which is pretty cool I guess. Highly suggest anyone who is crazy about cleanliness like myself to get this coating

Eh they weren't too bad but definitely needed replacing. Was a minor difference if any when the new ones went it. And thanks!

If you need that done. Let me know. I do this out of my home. Need to find time to actually Do my own m3 now. Been so busy with customer cars.

Had no idea you detailed! I usually like doing it myself but I'm working 13 hr days and working weekends as well so time isn't on my side. I have been thinking about doing the rod bearings with all these threads popping up of failure. At the very least we need to get together and shoot the shit over a beer!

Yeah I do a lot of stuff. I need it to order my bearings so I can knock them out. It's not a hard job just a bit time consuming.

Car threw a CEL yesterday for coolant temp sensor hahaha. Seems it's one thing after another after another. But oh well, part of owning a used car. Dropping the car off Thursday before I leave town for a wedding and will get it back Monday. Do these cars need cooling system overhauls like the E46 does?!

no coolant system overhaul is not needed. small sensor is a easy fix. heck you could actually just go pick one up from auto zone or from bmw and swap it out your self.

I was doing some research and most say you have to take the intake plenum off? Is that not the case?

the plenum is only held on by 8 6mm clamps. and the one clamp by the intake tube. If you want you I can swing by you to later on and show you. it literally takes 5mins to pull it off.

Found a good diy on the water pump that shows everything but I appreciate it the offer for help! Without sounding like making excuses I'm gone this weekend for a wedding and leave for keys Thursday for wife's 30th and need it operational without issue for the drive. I work from 8am til 8-9pm, so don't have the spare time to knock this out even with how easy it is. It's got a higher than normal idle that kinda rough on cold start which is consistent with bad sensor. They're also doing some exhaust "modifications" I don't want to mention on forum. Hahaha

Yea that was the whole purpose of moving was to work and double/triple my income. In Charlotte working from home I wouldn't even hesitate doing during lunch hours. You're lucky you've got that flexibility!

And yes, I'm looking forward to hearing it with the ac Schnitzer exhaust. Might change the tips out as well. Appreciate the offer for help as well!

I got in an interesting conversation with another enthusiast in my office, he's a P-car guy which I am as well. We got to talking about production numbers so we did some research. It seems there was 186 Interlagos LCI sedans produces worldwide. Then looking at Euro spec sedans which mine is, there were 165 made with the competition package. It'd be interesting to find out how many Euro spec sedans with competition package wearing Interlagos were produced. Any one know of a way?

As far as the car goes, not much going on as it's open enrollment for insurance and I'm working 14-15 hr days. I plan on going thru the next phase of maintenance in the new year. All suspension bushings, rod bearings, motor mounts and possibly the kw sleeve kit. I'm looking to ZCP wheels again as well if I can't find another set in my price range. It'll be interesting to see the condition of the rod bearings, especially with the shorter trips I've been taking. I do make sure the car is operating temp and I do drive the car aggressively. I'll be reaching out to properstyle on here soon to do an E90 shoot as well!

If you don't turn back and stare, you're doing it wrong! Changes coming shortly! Kw sleeve kit and new wheels, hopefully

Thanks, that's what cquartz will do! I wish I had coated every vehicle before this. Well worth the money.
