E93 EDC help please

New here. Hi. New to me 08 E93 M3 MT. I’m a novice but love to tinker. I have installed the evolve x pipe and tune and a K&N filter so far. New BIG Problem is I’m now stuck in Sport Mode (slammed) and can’t get out. I’m waiting for a refurbished module but after 5 days it just started making a metal drum noise, likely whatever surrounds the brake rotor on the passenger rear. I removed the wheel to take a look and there’s a cable just hanging out that’s not connected to anything but then goes up to the trunk. I then removed the drivers side rear to compare and the same wire is completely missing. Instead there is a small module that leads a much smaller wire up into the trunk. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!! Including some pics but can take more anytime.

that's just the brake pad wear sensor. nothing to do with EDC. also -- EDC doesn't affect ride height, just stiffness. If you're having height issues, that's something else entirely. Are you saying the EDC lights don't change when you press the button?

You are absolutely right about the pad sensors, thank you. I had no idea about the ride height, so thank you for that info too. The lights/button don’t do anything and I have the EDC malfunction error. I’ll start with swapping the module. The rear is riding easily 1” lower than the front. I have to figure that out.

Welcome to the forum. I'm curious what your measurements are from the center of the wheel to the fender.

Welcome onboard OP!
EDC chocks are connected on the top, no other wires.
If nothing happens - and they seem to be in Sport/stone hard setting, start with checking that all four are properly connected (one out = module cuts current to all four chocks resulting in even harder than Sport). The two fronts connectors are easy to check. The rears need to be uncovered, no difficult at all but takes an hour.
And like said, the EDC doesn't do anything with the hight.
Start there - prior replacing the EDC module - and report back mate!

re: ride height.. not sure what can affect that beyond the springs. so either you have aftermarket springs, or broken springs.

A lot of people mistake the extra wheel arch clearance up front necessary for the front wheels to steer, with uneven ride height. At stock ride settings the front gap is always going to be greater than the rear. Measure from the jacking points to the ground and see if there is rake front to back. As mentioned by Rocketyman measure from your hub to apex of the fender and compare to other cars at stock ride height.

Another way to measure is to hold a measuring tape at the lower edge of your rim crossing the center cap to the apex of your wheel arch.

Post From TIS - Measuring Ride-level Height of Vehicle

Okay...here's the correct way to measure ride height with specs. Gotta put the vehicle in "normal position" which means take out all the crap in the trunk (and interior if you're super messy). Spammy basically mentioned in the last part as being the "correct-way" to measure ride height.

I mistakenly did it from the center of hub to fender edge--so fine...I'm half of a 19" rim off from the official designed measurement.

I think it was sorta mentioned before, do keep in mind that the wheel heights are different from the front to the rear and will also look more-so because they are staggered tires/wheels. (Personally...I never liked this look how there's more gap in the front than rear)

So...what are your measurements?

Bilstein B6 EDC w/H&R lowering springs and rear Isolators

Umm..sure.

I might not be a good example since I have Bilstein B6 EDCs all around with H&R lowering springs. Remember me saying I hate how the rear looks lower on stock E9X? Well...I added a urethane "rough-road" Powerflex isolator to the rear spring perch as well.

Here's what I got: 24(ish)" aka 609 (ish)mm all around.

Do you happen to have a link to that Powerflex isolator, that would be great.

I think this is the original thread I was reviewing when considering suspension related items. The fact that other stock BMW parts can inter-change is awesome.

https://www.babybmw.net/threads/e8x-...-parts.141372/

This can help out the OP, too (trying not to thread-jack). But you'll find your answer in there.
