Trouble with the Clock

Anyone have a problem with the digital clock on the dash and the Idrive? For the past three weeks it gets 5 min begin a day and is getting pretty annoying to keep changing it. Any ideas?

There is a similar thread on this. The thought is that there is a clock battery that the dealer can replace. Definitely fixable.

Really? I don't have any issues (in 2 years), but this sounds idiotic to me. Will be following this thread for the culprit.

Oh, but even more idiotic is the stupid clock not adjusting itself to different time zones or Daylight Savings Time when you have nav, so having a separate battery for the clock somehow wouldn't surprise me much .

I have to agree..... I was extremely surprised the clock didn't update with DST and the time zones.

I had the same problem a couple of weeks ago, the dealer changed the main battery which solved the problem.

May Be A Battery Condition Issue

It may be a problem with your battery charge level. Battery charge isn't maintained if you drive the car infrequently or just do short daily drives. Apparently, as the battery charge deteriorates, the car's computer selectively shuts down non essential systems to keep the car starting and running as long as possible.

Yeah, you'd think it would adjust via GPS/satellite (which is BIG on time/NTP protocol).

I posted about the same problem awhile back and still haven't gotten it fixed. I was getting a message when I started the car about the battery draining, but I've turned off my laser jammer unless I'm on a long drive and that seems to have kept it from throwing a code, but the clock still gets screwed up.
