I paid around 1400 for full interior/exterior detail and paint correction with ceramic coat in Texas.

Pretty sure the price was $53k not $57,5k when I saved it 🤔🥴
It definitely was. Converting to USD when it was first posted resulted in about $39k, not the ~$43k it is now.
Yeah I did that too b/c of the color - now Converted to a higher price. Let's see if it sells.

I think just the paint correction, minor touch up, without coatings or anything major, is in the 600-800 range from what I have seen. I paid 650, but my appointment is in a few weeks. If I added a ceramic coating, which I didn't, it quickly passes 1,600+ depending on the options.

Yep don't want a ceramic coating just a fresh start.. my car sits in a garage mostly I'll apply some wax after and maintain it.

The thermostat is inside it’s housing which is in that metal enclosure at the very bottom of your pic you can see a small part of it. No reason to be in its area during TA replacement

i have a track day coming up on may 11

can I ignore the coolant temp sensor and address it afterwards?
as long as nothing catastrophic happens
or throw the car into limp mode like a bad TA would

I'm completely exhausted. Woke up at 9am Friday morning, went to work at 12am without a nap, then Saturday morning when I got off, I stopped by the local BMW dealership because the Diamond Car Rally was starting there. Our cars aren't eligible anymore. Long story short, my friend was going on the rally through the Audi Dealership, he had a Q8 and was riding alone. He told my other friends and I, that we can just hop into his car. We said sure. Dropped the cars off at my work so I knew they wouldn't get towed and went on the trip. Now here's the kicker, I thought it was Sunday so I completely forgot I had work until half way through and I still haven't slept yet.

I feel like I'm rambling I'm going to make this even shorter

Even longer story short. I forgot I had work and stayed up for 48 hours while having fun.

Picture of our ride. Sadly I mostly took videos and posted it to my Instagram account.

You can try it on your own. The process itself is pretty straightforward. Just requires a lot of time and patience.

I did my E46 first - 2 step paint correction and ceramic coating - took me 13 hours. I would advise against this since it starts getting irritating in the end.

Mistakes - Didn't let it cure long enough. Rained on the 3rd day - will probably use Carpro reload after my first wash to take care of this.

Did the M3 this weekend - did it spread over 4 days but it required less amount of paint correction as it's comparatively newer and garaged all the time. Gonna let it cure for a week at least this time.

Total cost - 160 for the polisher + compound s+ 85 for Ceramic coating + 40 for miscellanoise (pads, Ironx etc etc)

~300 total for 2 cars.

The result obvi won't be as good as the ones that you would get at one of the shops but still, pretty satisfactory. The ceramic coating does give the car a nice shine though - and my car is black so it really pops.

Best wax for M3?

Used clay and then paste wax always but what about the F11 spray and shine?

Added a small Focal powered sub box to my M3 with Individual Audio last weekend.. TechnicPnP harness and WavTech bassFREQ LOC. Quick disconnects coming soon in the mail so I can quickly take the box in and out of the car as needed. This thing is pretty small but puts out a lot of bass! I'm very happy. Install took about 5 hours and the add-a-sub thread here was very helpful. I had already upgraded my underseat subs to BavSound replacements but it just didn't reach that lower octave i was craving.

Took a gamble on an OEM modded muffler with some OEM black chrome tips. I'm told it was the 2 pipe version but didn't see inside myself. I'll try this out for a while. Sounded excellent and noticeably different on the drive home.

Shadow Chrome Grills........or more like Grill

So finally got around to installing the Shadow Chrome grills and installed the Left one no problem. When it came to pop in the right grill and pulled it out of the packaging....they had shipped me a Chrome grill instead!!!!!!

GetBMWparts.....you may have cheap prices, but the last few orders have been full of wrong parts. May have to switch back to FCP Euro!

Drove over a dead goose today at 70mph, turns out the front lip was barely high enough; just got a few feathers and some blood on the lip

Drove my daughter over to the local DQ - had three deranged drivers at various times of the journey speeding right up on my rear bumper. So nice to know there are that many fuck-wits in New Jersey.

That sucks! what is "shadow chrome"? I just got the gloss black from IND... I didnt know if I would like it.. but it's way better than I thought. To me, it fits space grey very well.

Finally had some time to install new paddles and a like-new trim I got from someone here.. The airbag part was a total PITA but now that I know how it works, it would be very easy the second time. Thankfully, the M3Post WhatsApp group provided some much needed help.

Installed oem (gloss) black grills by removing the air duct instead of loosening the bumper and liked that method.
Jury is still out of the grill but wife says she likes it a little better, so it stays for now.
