Yea. I'm not that thrifty... I'll pay the $100 to not have to funnel 8 bottles of oil and take them down to ups.

Yes and no. I believe they said they don't care how they get it back as long as they get it back. They do test if its the correct oil or not somehow.

No. Save one bottle. You will drain your oil. It will sit in the oil pan. You will empty the contents of the new oil into your vehicle. You will drain the old oil into the containers that you just drained the new oil out of. Put the containers with the old oil into a garbage bag and tie it off. Then into the box it came in without making it obvious that you are reusing the old box or find a box of similar size. I agree with roastbeef I don't particularly want to ship it back to FCP either. But since I have gone through all the trouble and I'm doing this 6 times per year saving $600 per year it's well worth it for me. I'm sure there are tons of people who laugh at the idea of getting on our hands and knees and changing out the oil let alone bagging it up and shipping it out.

For those shipping the oil kits back, using the USPS flat rate box, isn't there a hazmat fee?

Not if you're shipping water jugs.

Well look at it like how you told me, you're basically paying $20-40/oil change after the first time.

Just bought an engine oil change kit and returned the old one. FCP Euro refunded the amount in a couple of days. Props to them.

Yes. Don't call it a scheme, it advertised as legit on their website.

Ship it back in 1 large and 1 medium fixed rate box from usps. Oil in bottles, bottles zip tied into bags, bags into box.

Did my first Lifetime Replacement w/ FCP Euro. Got credit within a few days of old parts delivered back to them. Unreal. And the customer service is top notch!

Shipping back oil just seems tacky and classless to me. I know what it says on their website. But I feel like it's ridiculous to ship back oil. You're making the business lose at lot of money.

I don't bother with flat rate boxes. I print a ground shipping label and ship my old oil back in the same box the new oil came in. It was under $20 for my last shipment IIRC.

FCP Euro has been around for a long time. I'm sure they've run the numbers on their lifetime replacement warranty and whether it is a net gain or net loss. I suspect the increase in customer loyalty offsets the relative loss. Most of their prices are also slightly higher than you can find elsewhere so they are baking in the warranty cost. This is literally the main way in which they are able to differentiate themselves from the dozens of other OEM part websites. If you're more concerned about saving their business money than saving your own money then more power to you, but I wouldn't go to the extent of calling everyone who takes advantage of this business model "tacky and classless."

I'm referring to the member that ships out oil 6 times a year....

I'm not making the business do anything. I'm following the protocols they set forth in their business model.

Depends how far you're shipping. I'm in CA. Over $60 to ship oil change kit back in their box.

Oh wow. I'm shipping from WI and have a small (10%?) discount with UPS through work. I'd definitely go the flat rate box route too if I saw a $60 shipping quote.

So can you buy one oil change kit and keep getting the refund every time you need a new kit? As long as you follow the directions on their website and pay for return shipping

This is exactly right. Although I have never personally done it with oil.

Can anyone shine a light on scribbles on the FCP website?... apparently he's missing? The lifetime replacement policy is crazy, it's not even like you guys are abusing the spirit of it. It's in their mission statement.

What about when you get to kit 3 and send back kit 2? Do they refund you again or does the cycle start all over
