Gintani/oe Tuning With Ez-flash?

Hey guys, so Ive decided on the Meisterschaft fully catless exhaust system, and now need a good tune in order to remedy the SES light that accompanies the removal of cats, and to gain some nice power. Ive heard GREAT things about gintani/oetuning, so I think I might just go with them. I am located on the east coast, and after e-mailing raz@gintani he said a shop over here could set it up for me. Anyways, long story short the EZ-FLASH seems very appealing to me, is anybody running this? Any issues? Feedback of any sort? Tune or ezflash....THANKS
By the way the car is a 2011 e92 m3 DCT

Saw this when Jeremy was out here a couple weeks ago doing tunes, its a great concept. Being able to switch between two different flashes.

Its pretty new and I believe OE is the only one doing this right now. He showed me how it works and its very simple. I thought about doing it so I could save the tuned file and save the stock file...this way if car ever has to go to dealer i can flash it back to stock...then when i get it back I can reload the Tuned file

There's a few shops that could help you, it's very easy. I did a write up on another site - you got PM.

hey! BT M3 i didnt get a PM.....anyways, I really LOVE the concept. I had my warantee voided on my previous 335 so I dont want to be doing that again. Figure ill just have a catless exhaust and use the EZFLASH to run the gintani/oe flash and when I have to go to the dealership I can just flash to stock.

I just talked to Jeremys buddy JJ out here in NY and he said its 990 for the tune plus 400 for the ez-flash. You can switch from stock to tune and back when you go to the dealer or for emission tests. Send me your e-mail or cell number and i will give it to him and you can set up something. He can do it up here at his shop in poughkeepsie or down in Long island.

Only problem is that the EZ Flash will not defeat the anti-tuning features of BMW's software. As such, if the dealer updates your software thereby overwriting your DME, your ECU will be "locked" and the EZ Flash will not work. You will have to have your ECU "unlocked" before the EZ Flash will work. As such, it is not that useful vis-a-via dealer updates as it does not eliminate the necessity to have your ECU unlocked (which for many of us involves shipping the ECU off to a tuner).

Now if and when they can develop the EZ Flash to circumvent the anti-tuning features of BMW's software, then I would buy one in an instant.

You just unlock it once then decline any further dealer updates.

From what I was told, this is already done or near done on the M3. No worries.

I think you guys are confusing switching maps with reflashing your ECU. Check out GOAPR.com or RevoTechnic.com. They both allow you to swap between tuned map and stock map with a switch. Its like like telling Windows & to emulate XP. But you are still running aftermarket flash and if it were sent to Germany they could definitely tell there is a different file on your chip.

Softronic.us actually sell the flash, flashing software and cable that then you use to flash your own car. Flash is locked to your VIN, so you can not give it to your buddy. If you choose, before visiting a dealer, you can flash 100% stock software back to the chip. Basically using previous analogy, you blow away Win7 and install XP. When you get the car back, you once again can re-flash it yourself. Nifty. Porsche only ATM.

I like more clarification for OE, as to what exactly they do.
