So in other words, it was 60-130 without actually trying to get 60-130. Roman told me earlier this week that he's planning to take some real 60-130 runs over the weekend.
understood...thanks

We were not really trying for quick 60-130 times when we were running the cars the other day. We were really just having some fun. We will be out again this weekend and this time we will spend some time on the 0-60 60-130 etc.. runs with the V-box to try and get some proper numbers.

I don't understand this part. I mean how are the people from california who install these illegal supercharger kits manage to clear the bi-annual smog inspections?

Is it one of those deals where you "pay a little extra" to get around the problem or is there a better way? This is definitely one of the fears that has me "on pause".

You don't have to smog new cars. You get a 6 year pass according to the web site.

Not sure there is any getting around the system since it's all done by the computer.....

However if all that the smog does is input it into the OBII then it can be made to pass. They haven't passed the "no programming changes" in CA yet have they? I'm sure ESS can make the car pass a sniffer test since it's just a 20mph and 30 mph idle dyno test....

I'm sure someone that is more of an expert then I am will chime in.

you can read the DMV too.....

Nice numbers Your power curve for tq and hp look really nice. It tells you alot about the design and tuning of the kit.

Even if the supercharged car can pass the sniffer test how does it pass the engine inspection test? That supercharger is pretty visible in the engine bay, and the letters "ESS TUNING" on the block pretty much give it away. Or is this something that these smog checkers don't report?

In CA the kit will not currently pass visual inspection but it will pass smog / sniffer. We are currently looking into CARB certification.
