ESS vt1 550 vs 625

I currently have the 550 but am contemplating upgrading to the 625. My wheels hook just fine right now but am concerned with the added horse power and torque it might get real squirrely. Is it worth it to have the extra horsepower and feel invincible (and maybe deal with more internal stress) or just suffer along with the 550 hp and have more control?

If you guys can give pros and cons it would be much appreciated...Thanks.

Man I wish they still made a kit like the 550. Simple and no-frills power for folks who don't want to go crazy with boost for a reasonable price.

Personally after owning an ESS650 for 4 years and now having a stock e92 M3 for the last 3 years, if i go supercharged again, I'd do a 550 kit but upgrade the injectors/tune and run methanol for cooling. The air-to-water intercooler system in the ESS625 is horrible.

Would you consider going FI again? I'm a long time turbo and SC owner but my E92 is NA. I have to be honest when I say I somewhat like the NA piece of mind, but at the same time I'm known to get bored (or dumb).

Nah, if I was going to do anything, I would prob do an Akra Evo with an ethanol tune with a proper flex fuel sensor or 91 octane + methanol injection to hit 400 dyno jet hp if I wanted to add more power.

At the moment for what I use the car for, I'm content at stock power.

Thanks for sharing the insight coming from someone who has experience with NA going to SC and back to NA....I was on the fence about getting SC and decided to keep it NA with BPM tune with test pipe is more than satisfactory for my DD....I probably plan to get a F90 M5 for the needed HP and hopefully when COVID settles down by next year can start turning my M3 to more track dedicated. thanks again.
