Ouch my bumper

My girlfriends mom backed into my car and put a nice hole in my front bumper with her trailer hitch. We are going to go through her insurance company to have it fixed. I was wondering what the odds are I could have the bumper replaced with a euro spec or rdsport bumper. Any one with experince with bumper damage?

Once you get the estimate if it will cover a euro bumper then get a euro bumper.

It won't cover... price of US stock bumper is about 700 bucks and then color and paint.

I couldn't even get BMW to order me the Euro bumper cover when I needed to replace it. They produced some BMW memo that said they could not sell Euro parts in NA. I had the body shop use pieces of my old bumper cover to fill the reflector holes in my new bumper cover. It cost me 200 bucks and it now looks like a Euro bumper.

OP, you could do it but will have to cover the price difference (~$1300 or so extra.)

bet to do is put up the extra $500-700 and buy a RD Sport Bumper or a Vorishiner Bumper. The Euro spec bumpers are $$$ to get over here (like $2300+ factory painted) You can go the fill a hole route but there are risks involved 2-3 years down the line.

Thanks for all your replies guys. The adjustor hasn't come out yet so I don't know for sure how much they are going to write it up for. I'm pretty close with one of they guys at the shop, he is going to hook me up and paint it for free so I'll have a few extra bucks towards an upgraded bumper. I'm just going to have to talk him into putting the extra effort into fitting it properly.
Rwchrist I'd like to see some more pics of your car also lol

Hey, i mean, dont know if ur interested, but I have a stock bumper with the filled in reflector holes. Basically a euro. I also have the authentic vrs cf lip on it. Willing to get rid of it all for a decent price. Dont know if u would b interested but just letting u know. Ur also in philly, not to far from me. all u would need to do is paint it jet black. and since u said u get that for free, thats a pretty sweet deal. Let me know if ur interested.

Glad y'all are showing interest in the stripes...some days I really like them, others I think they are too much. It does make my AW look different. As for pics though, I can't figure out how to size them properly on this thread. So if you click on rwchrist (off to the left), you will be able to look at my albums and find more.

Looks like a good patch job on that bumper. Kudos to your body shop.
