oil cooler dented, need replacement?

Hit my undercarriage a while ago and recently I decided to fix it and replace the scratched bumper. As part of the fix they saw the oil cooler is dented. Do I need to replace it, no warnings and car seems fine with it for a long time?

It's only cosmetic damage. No worries

Just watch your oil temps. If it runs within normal range then I wouldn't worry about it.

It's usually about ~200/210. When I stress the engine it jumps to about 260-280.

Nothing to worry about.

You could straighten it back out being that it's just aluminum. A flat edge and a few small smacks will have it looking normal again.

holy shit, 260-280? even 260, let alone 280 is dangerously high. what the hell are you doing to your engine lol?

I assume you are not using 10w60 oil. if you are, that is insane.

with temps like that, you should seriously consider switching back to 10w60 if you arent using it already.

He could be tracking it, fairly common to see temps like that at the track

I took my first track training. It was about 10 minutes on the track that day and got pretty hot toward the end.

Those temps are pretty normal if you drive on track.

I'm more disturbed that they suggest a replacement without conducting a test to see if you really need it.
