Shop recommendation for RB swap in Boston area?

Hi guys,

Anyone knows a good shop to recommend for Rod bearings swap around Boston?
I am definitely OK to do it myself, but I don't have the time nor the garage space at the moment.
I have been shafted by a couple of "certified BMW mechanics" before, don't want to call names now, but I don't know a good specialist anymore.

Many thanks

I had my rod bearings replaced by Woodward Motorsports in Mendon, MA:

https://www.woodwardmotorsport.com/

No affiliation just a very satisfied customer, they are not local to me but I was so pleased with their work I had them tackle some maintenance on our 328i.

Many thanks!

I would’ve also recommended Trevor at Woodward. He recently did my friends RB’s

Not quite in the Boston area but I just took mine over to VSR1 in New Hampshire. I had rod bearings/bolts done and a DCT service. Great shop and excellent service, highly recommend them.

I do all my own work (including rod bearings) but am local and have heard good things about VSR over the past 20 years. The MA car owner might escape tax in NH, which would pay for the gas and tolls.

I did mine at Woodward motorsports and I have reservations recommending; they did it so quick that I had doubts the job was ever done... (from 7AM to 3PM) ... altough got my old bearings back and one was gone and a time bomb . And after a lot of going back and forth I got pictures of the installation.. but can't really tell if it's my car or A car...
Not sure what happened there. I hope they did it OK and my car is fine.

Just my 2 cents.

EDIT: I sound paranoid for dashing a shop, but I asked them to wait for me 10 min to show me the car and how they did the job and findings.. I got stuck in traffic coming from Boston and they just put the car back out and keys inside... I mean for 2600 $$ you would at least wait for the owner to show and explain what was done. Maybe it's just me and I am paranoid. Possible.

Another plus 1 for Woodward. He just did my Rod Bearings and a bunch of other maintenance items on my E92 M3. Great price and great work!!!

I saw another comment here, Woodward did all of my service very quickly as well. He did document some of it for me/he posted a quick video on his social media of my M3 which I thought was super cool and was super happy with.

He works on these S65's a lot and I've read of a lot of shops having similar same day turn around so that's definitely not unheard-of for someone who's done a ton of RB's. I know four separate people with S65 M3's who have gone to him for RB's in the past year which is how I was given the recommendation. I have no affiliation, just very happy/satisfied with my service and will be for sure going back to him

Here's a screenshot:

I have had mine in at Woodward. I have been happy each time and updated my review here.

I can understand worrying about your car when other people are working on it, but if you got the bearings back, as I did when I had my car in for service there, I would rest assured the work was done. Trevor and the shop seem reputable.

I just saw a shop in California make a recent post on the Facebook groups, that they completed S65 Rod Bearings in three hours start to finish

If we are talking extremes... End of the day, it's each owners car and money, they can do what they want with it. Personally, I hate to send my car to mechanics, I do everything I can inhouse. If I ever have to change bearings again, I'll do it myself next time (hopefully not).
