Used throttle actuators anyone?

Having my throttle actuators replaced because I recieved a fault code. Deciding to replace both regardless of whether one works or not.

Is anyone interested in rebuilding these and using them? Will sell.

Let me know!

Donate them to mpower motor sports. DIY rebuilds have not been very successful. Just replacing gears rarely works. And few know how to redo the electronics reliably.

How much do you want for them? Ive debated buying a pair from Mpower and putting them on the shelf... but in that scenario you are sitting on $200 in core charge fees until you actually end up needing to replace.

Mpower sells refurbs for 200? Maybe I'm misunderstanding your statement.

Also, I'm not sure how much to let them go, once they are out today and I have time maybe this weekend I'll open them up and see what shape the gears are in. But some on the forum said to contact Abdul first because he's low on cores? Waiting for his response back

Mpower needs cores so it has to charge a core charge that is refundable if you send back the cores. Otherwise people don’t bother and then there is not stock to rebuild. He makes relatively little on these and is mostly motivated in providing a service that helps people so they don’t have to pay shops as much. I have given him 3 cores and have one of the rebuilts and 1 newer one. I think the original rebuilder, Jason in the UK, does his rebuilds. There are plenty out there in cars that are proving his rebuilds are good.

No. There is a $100 core charge from MPower for each actuator ... so if you buy them BEFORE you have issues and just put a pair on the shelf, MPower will be holding onto your $200 in core charges until your TAs actually go out and you send in your (eventual) bad actuators.

I have two on the shelf now. One actuator has an intermittent fault, so I’m waiting for right time...

Mpower never responded. Have both my actuators out. Still haven't gotten around to opening them up and seeing how the gears look.

If anyone is interested in the two actuators pm me

If this is the video, he actually seems to say that the problem was the electronic board, not the gears.

I changed gears in 4 actuators. Made no difference in the two that were not working. But a pain to swap in and out to test. One that was working continued to work for another year or two. The other that was working was still working when removed 2 years later because I was pulling the intake again to change the starter. I

I now have one new actuator and one rebuilt by mpower Motorsport with refurbished electronics and new gears.

I sent all 4 to mpower for use as cores. Abdul is a good guy trying to help people. To me a used actuator — even with new gears — is not worth the time and trouble. I have been there and done that.

Yeah. As soon as my acturoars we're toast I didn't even think about changing the gears. I went ahead and replaced them with OEM parts.

Some may say it'll happen again but there are also many that have gone over the 6 figure mark with original actuators. So I'll go ahead and take my chances.

i had mine rebuilt with the carbon infused gears and has been running fine for almost a year now. But some of you guys are correct, you are hoping that the computer is fine and will work after the rebuild. If it doesn't work, then you'll have to pull it all back out again and install new ones. My mechanic cleaned it up nicely and checked everything before putting it back together so hopefully it'll last a while. Saved me quite a bit of money.
