I've seen guys on here who brag about owning a $50,000 335i E92 tuned to the MAX and how they would never settle for "bottom barrel" BMWs (two posters actually).

Just for kicks, I searched their other post just to see what kind of posters they were.

1) One of them was in the military and RENTING a small apartment.
2) The other was a kid who still lived with his parents.

You can't judge people's finances solely on the car they drive. Some people want to spend their money on certain things (home, nice furniture, savings account for kid's school, etc), and others want to max out their finances for the car they love. I'm not saying either viewpoint is wrong, or less righteous, it's just different strokes for different folks.

As an aside, I have lunch with a 10+ year surgeon every weekend who owns several clinics around Southern California, I met him at church. He drives a Toyota Camry base model. Do you think many people on this board are actually more wealthy than he is because he doesn't own a BMW?

That idiot is only trying to justify the overpriced tag that he paid for the same car that others got for 45k. Im my opinion, if you are paying more than 45k for a fully loaded 3 series, the dealer is having a field day in your A$$.

My major complaint is the level of immaturity that this board suddenly has. With the prices of the car coming down, the age base of the e90/92 is getting younger and unfortunately more immature. Not to say all of the people on this board who are in their teens are immature, it's just a lot of recent people are. But, the people who have the least are the ones that try the hardest. Oh well, I guess I gotta find another forum or get a new car.

I would never pay over 50g's for a 3 series. this is my second 3 series bought them both brand new and I only paid $41k for my 01 330ci and $42k for my 08 335xi. I think I got a great deal. Whoever thinks that the 3-series should be worth $50k, they're the posers. because they're just buying the name. cause we all know they have some quality issues.

LOL! I agree with you Gonzo. I bought mine with sports package, PDC and metallic paint. Paid $38K. Did I buy one to try and "fit in"? WTF does that mean? Do the first couple of guys who responded really think people's dream is to fit in with them and their crowd?

I laugh when I think of a businessman on vacation with his wife in Panama City and the disdain with which he treated some of the locals there. They go to the parasail pier and the guys there strap his wife in and take her for a ride. All the while he looks down his nose at these "common" people. These guys whole job is sitting in the sun on a pier and driving a boat....they are also clearing $250K per year.

Next time you (those who wish the common folk would all buy Hyundai like they are supposed to) are styling your Breitling with your pink shirt and 4 popped collars looking down your nose at those people you think are trying to be like you, consider the possibility that they are laughing at what a douche you are.
