Oops, I meant 255/35/19 in the fronts. I would actually prefer to go OEM size, 245/35/19 if I can avoid using spacers.

Clearance in the front seems to be more an issue of OD. The OE 245/35-19 is 25.8. When I put a rear up front, it rubbed, with and OD of 26.3. Now I’m using 275/35-18 with no rubbing, and it measures 25.6. The 255/35-19 is 26.0, which is probably very close, but a spacer should not be required for clearance

Hmm what he means is that yes the PSS is produced in 265/35ZR19 [1] but we are not importing them as yet.

Can you take a picture of the tread? Perhaps they are a different tire marked as PSS? Do you know where they are made? Maybe the mold is in the UK or EU.

The 265/35/zr19 tyre is the correct 98Y load rating for the rear tyres of the M3.

The tread pattern is the same as the one you posted for your wrecked tyre.

Just finished my first day at the BMW HPDE today and these performed extremely well. They gripped well, braked well and had great turn in. They only got noticeably greasy during the last run of the day and even then I felt in control and just had to ease off a bit. Also, they held up very well with the wear level being about what I would have expected.

I'm no pro by any stretch but I was impressed as were my instructors.

Heath, sounds like a fun day. What tire pressures were you running and were they much less than you were using for street driving ?

Been driving for close to 1000 miles since I installed those new tires. I can feel very slight rubbing if I turn the steering wheel at full lock while driving. I would say there would be no rubbing 95% of the time for me, pretty happy with the whole setup.

I ran 35 cold all around but it was a cold day too (13 c). There wasn't much rollover onto the sidewall and wear seemed even across the contact patch.

P.S. It was a GREAT day... you should make the trip over sometime.

Was it a preference or requirement that you chose 255/35/19 in the fronts vs. keeping them at OEM size, 245/35/19?

I'm still figuring out if I can go with 245/35 & 275/35 setup since 265/35 is not available yet if ever, without any spacers with a stock setup.

I'm about to need new tires for the rears, and I'm wondering if it would be acceptable to replace just the rears with the PSS. I have the OEM PS2s in stock sizes on VMR 19x8.5f/19x9.5r rims currently.

Obviously this would mean increasing my stagger slightly vs stock. I would need the 275/35/19 size, correct?

You can run a 255 275 set up without spacers... spacers push the wheels OUT...


if you have 220M wheels, you can run it without an issue
if you have 359 ZCP wheels, you can run it without issue

It won't run. It should actually provide you with more grip and better handling

My set up right now is 245 40 18 285 35 18 (OEM 18s)

I plan on putting 255 in the front once these die out.

I'm running 255/35 & 275/35 on ZCP 19's. I rubbed on the rear bumper with 12mm rear spacers. After going from 15F/12R to 12F/10R I ended up with 10mm F & 5mm R. These tires are very sidewall meaty with a lot of rim / curb rash protection. Great tire!!!

i have the re11's on my car right now and id sware its the best tire ever made for me up to this point

i was really excited to get the pss's and give them a shot but i plan on doing a few highly competitive track days this summer and if the pss still get greasy and such are the re11's still a better tire for me. I drive my car hard.

agreed, replaced oem pilot sports on C4S with RE11's...RE11's had better grip and better ride...I really liked that tire...but on M3, I will try the super sports just to test them out when time comes.

This matches what I am hearing. There is no announcement of 265/35R19 yet, and no part # in the system. I am guessing these will not be available this summer.
