Jesus christ how has OP had this intake for two months and not installed it yet lol. Drop it off at ICS in Stamford and pick it up at the end of the day.

You definitely won't get full sound quality with a phone cam or GoPro.

Based on the vids, the Karbonius box is definitely louder than anything else I've heard. Sound tone wise, very similar to a full GruppeM intake kit.

I think the Karbonius airbox paired with GruppeM or some other carbon air intake will make massive noise!

where in the bay area are you? would love the see/hear the motorsport24 box.
San Jose. Car is at PTech finishing rear fenders pull, running 315s in rear

Nobody who likes their car should ever drop it off at ICS.

I don't think it can be paired with anything. This is the plenum+elbow+filter top

I heard the Karbonius videos vs the 'Exhibit A' and there is a clear and unmistakable difference

It has nothing to do with the install. The plenum install in a S65 can be done in an hour.

I'm waiting for my xpipe to arrive before I do the install.

On one car I'll test with an OTS tune

On the other it'll be a 'custom' tune as that car will also get cams and headers

Sounds great, but tbh I don't think it will be much different than just the cf plenum cover. Sure it will help with heat soak in some cases, and does look cool, but not sure if it justifies the extra cash - 2500€ + VAT (21%?) vs 1200€. The elbow and filter cover are probably just for the look, right?
I am waiting for more videos and I am very curious if this thing shows any gains over the stock intake.

I don't think anyone has bought a CSL style airbox 'justified' based on numbers.

I can notice a clear difference in sound between one of my Ms with the Dinan CF intake which is 15cm long and the stock one.
I'm sure the difference between that and a full CF plenum/elbow/airfilter cover will be dramatic.

It is well documented that the OEM elbow restricts the flow. You can solve it through aftermarket elbows or as part of the Karbonius kit.

^ Is there any simple elbow kit for the S65? There are silicone elbows for like $100 for the S54. I love the Dinan piece but talk about M tax.

The cheapest one I'm aware of is the Macht Schnell elbow

this is probably the best value, best looking, cleanest design for the money intake right now if you're just interested in an elbow.

I get that you want to brand your item so people know who made it and want to buy it but MAN does their brand name ruin the look of the thing.

Not sure if you undestood my point - I was comparing this kit to just the plenum cover, like the one below.
I can only judge by the videos, and the cars filmed with this type of plenum seem to sound just as good as this kit
The added cost in my opinion is not justified because it doesn't seem to sound noticably better (over the carbon plenum cover like one below).
Cheers
