You can go up to 255 and 275 on OEM 19s without pinching too much. Those sizes are within spec for 8.5 and 9.5 width wheels. Obviously, 9 and 10 width wheels are a bit better suited to the larger than stock sizes.

255/275 will work but optimal would be the 9 and 10 as foosh stated

Would you go 265/35/19 and 285/35/19 with 9x19, 10x9 ET20 all around on Eibachs?

I know the rear will have no problems but a little worried about rubbing upfront

IF/when I was to jump up to an M3, I'd be frothing at the mouth for the chance to burn through the stockers and get the Vreds on. Just IMO.

They are very good street tires for sure, and the price is hard to beat.

Hey All,

I'm very, very new to the world of tires. I am sold (in fact, eager) to get the the Vredestein Ultrac Sesantas to replace my worn rears but have one question.

If I have a stock car with 19"s, should I be getting 275/35/19 or 275/30/19 at the rear? It seems that people have talked about both as options in this thread. If both are workable, what is the benefit/drawback of going with one over the other?

2. Is it a no-no to replace the rears

275/35/19 if you are upsizing.

The rolling diameter is much closer to stock than the 275/30/19 size.

The smaller 275/30 tire, will also transmit more NHV to the cabin as well. (slightly harsher ride due to the shorter sidewall)

I'm about to order a set, but they don't have 245/35/19s listed. There wouldnt be any problem running 275/35R and 245/40F, would there?

255/35s are fine, 245/40s too tall, as LMB says.

Good stuff. I'm glad I didn't order yet; that site has them even cheaper than the one I was going to use. I can't remember the address, it's saved on my other computer; I'll post it later. Anyway, I knew the tires were offered in that size, but the site I was looking at didn't have them for some reason.

I run these on my SUV, great tire, definitely putting them on the m3, wet weather traction is unbelievably good 100+ in standing water with no hydro-planing or twitching

Good to kmow - wet weather performance is important to me here in Oregon in the winter. Have you ever had them in snow? PS2s are useless; I don't expect these to be better.

On the OEM 19 wheels, which are 8.5" and 9.5", I'd stick with OEM sizes 245 (f) and 265 (r). Many of us who ordered the new RAC wheels (9" and 10") are going up to 255 and 275, because they fit the wheel better. That set-up also maintains the OEM stagger proportions

10mm is not a huge difference, so you could go either way, and you could also get away with the larger sizes on the OEM wheel. There is no clear-cut reason to go one way or the other, just personal preference related to whether you'd like to have a little more tire or not. However, on slick pavement, more tire is not necessarily better.
