E92 Muffler Delete Help

Hi

This is first post and so kind of new to the forums. I’ve searched and could not find the answer. I hope you guys can help

I have an e92 m3 and I decided to do a secondary cat and muffler delete . Made the mistake and the drone is too much to handle . So I am deciding on placing two electronic valves to help reduce the drone when driving with the family . However I do not know where to begin or even it it will help with the drone . Spent almost $750 on this and hurts to know the money is going to waste. Please see picture below and any help on which direction to take to purchase and place would be greatly appreciated!

A little unclear as to what you are trying to accomplish. If you are asking about adding valves to what you have pictured, it would accomplish nothing. If you have a big budget, do a valved exhaust that is already on the market. If you have budget concerns, I have seen folks use the factory axle back and add in a motorized exhaust cutout prior to the muffler. If you want no drone, relatively quiet cruising that sounds great under acceleration, look at the oem muffler mods, 2 pipe, 2.5 pipe or 4 pipe which is a cost effective alternative and sounds great.

You really should do some research and get an understanding of how different combinations sound before you just start chopping or throwing things on.

Yea, dont see how valves are going to help you... Valves would prevent gas from escaping the exhaust altogether. Bad move.

I tried a pair of straight pipes like yours and it was horribly unbearable in low rpm. I took them off in less than 24 hrs.

Go with a Corsa rear, zero drone.

the money is gone and there is no good way to make those exhaust deletes you have get quieter.
get a dinan or the M performance exhaust.

If you wanted a valved exhaust setup, you should have got a Valvetronic exhaust from the get-go. Muffler delete is a joke on any car. You can't just add valves on these as you will be restricting the flow exiting the pipes and it's not going to reduce drone at all except lower the volume of the drone.

Like others have mentioned, money is gone, take it as a lesson and buy an actual exhaust.

OEM muffler mod or add valves to your Oem muffler. Valves would do nothing to your current setup

Thanks for the feedback . I believe the OEM mod 2 pipe is the way to go.

Muffler deletes sound terrible on these cars, research would have told you that.

A Megan or CNT Racing exhaust would have cost less and sounded better.

Cut your losses and buy a muffler setup, or dig a deeper hole.
