Tough to get the glossy look on the wheels, but you get the idea.

^^lol..serious..thats one of the reasons I went with the 230's...i can easily get my hand in there with a mitt on to wash inside the wheels..makes a big difference...wheels look soo much brighter

go anthricite, not quite black, but has the same appeal.

pitch black to me just looks like cop car.

I like it, but, i don't want to be a cop poser

that's just my train of thought.

also, black would still look really good on your car.

thanks man! ^^

my buddy's shop can do them for me...but they will be flat black...
i think i prefer that over glossy black too

still hoping to see this done before....so I can "try before I buy" lol....

im picking up my old rims from the dlr today and will see if they are repairable..if so I'll be picking up the front two in the near future

if it's a friends shop, you're probably getting a deal on it, so for all it matters, if you don't like one colour, do it a different colour after.

I don't think you'll regret black on white, it is the "in thing" to do for the last few years, so you won't be doing any wrong.

I have however started to notice it turning more into a winter rim sort of thing as of recently. So that's on thing to consider before you do this. Will it make it look like a winter rim (which is badass)

either way, i don't doubt it will look good. Cars are starting to come that way from the dealer because it's becoming popular.

oh, as far as brake dust.... I have anthricite rims, and i can go for more then 2 days without cleaning a rim, it's nice... It still adds up and dulls the rim a lot, but nothing when compared to the silver.

dupe the wheels with a square marquee into a new layer (for speed).
dupe that layer again and hide that one.
2nd layer do a color range selection on the wheel's midtone. change the picker to the add picker, get a high and a low tone until you've selected it. hit ok. go into quick mask mode and fine-tune your selection to just the wheels. i think the next thing i did was do a saturation adjustment: lower the lightness to your liking, kill the saturation.
the second dupe layer was to do the same thing via another method, but i can't remember if it was just a different color range selection to be more conservative with the color picking. i blended both layers. total time was 15 minutes.

i highly doubt this method will work to change the wheels to an actual color. but anything can be done if you know how to do it, and then there's always a hundred ways to do one thing in photoshop.
