Broken brake line in rear.
Does anyone know what could cause this?

Yikes, I suppose road debris could cause that. Curious if the brakes completely go out when this happens or if each line is isolated?

That's what I thought, but everything is intact in the rear.

They were still working. The car has been sitting for 2 years since my divorce.

Was the car transported? Maybe one of those over the wheel webs some transporters use to tie the car down was poorly placed and caught on the line.

Not at all. I bought the car in LA in 2017. Drove it to the MidWest shortly after. I remember shortly before I stopped driving it, it had been leaking. Looks like someone deliberately clipped the line. No joke.

I have a suspicion that it was a dealership I took it to after my road trip for an oil change. When I say this thing was cut, it was as if someone reached up into where this brake line runs and cut it clean in half. I'll have to get a photo today. There is no way someone could have done it without a lift.
