Anyone have any luck getting the "Passenger restraint malfunction" issue handled by BMW?

I contacted Autobahn, and they said the item was a recall, but there are no parts available and forwarded me to BMW of North Americas 800 number.

The light only comes on every now and then.. seemingly after passenger seat is used, then it disappears again, but if it is truly a recall issue I would like to have it replaced if possible.

Car is an 08 e92 M3 with 50k miles.

Hmm.. i had this same issue in a previous 330i that I had and it was the sensor/mat, replaced under the recall.

The error hasn't shown up in the M3 again..but when it did nothing was in the passenger seat.

Yeah, that is strange. Does it seem to happen when you first get in the car or does it happen after you have been driving for a while?

So I joined M Gruppe, but the forums are not that active. Is it their facebook page that is more active?? I don't have facebook anymore so I pretty much depend on the forums info.

I live in Uptown area and work in Plano.

I have become a proud E92 owner about two weeks ago.

I'd love to get together with some of the local folks.

I used to run a pretty decent meet back in California under the VQ families.

I would love to put something together and potentially start another network out here.
