New owner.. What are the 'necessary' mods?

Just bought a 2011.5 E92 with DCT, iDrive, etc., and am wondering if there are any mods that almost everyone buys first thing. Not necessarily power mods (I do plan on a BMC filter), but power mods can be included. The car has 1700 miles and I don't want to void the warranty. I plan on tint and possibly clear bra. What else am I missing?

LUX Angel Eyes, IND Cosmetic Package (As already mentioned) I like the look of the Edition Grills over painted though, so you could do those and painted reflectors. At minimum a OEM exhaust mod or cat back to hear that engine roar....

LUX ANGELS EYES

IND COSMETIC PACKAGE

EDITION GRILLS

PAINTED REFLECTORS

OEM EXHAUST MOD

Eisenmann race muffler with connecting pipes.

And a combox retrofit if you don't have BMW apps. I may cancel my Sirius because the Internet radio is better and works under covered parking, parking garages, etc.

Thanks for the serious replies. GOOD call on these body additions, I wonder how many cars I've looked at so far and not even noticed these on there?

Little confused on the cosmetic package though; do the side gills come with M3 adhesives? It looks like there's a spot for them but they are not there. Whereas, the edition grill kit has them.

^ You are correct they are included on the Edition Grill Set as well as the tinted lenses at no additional cost. On the Cosmetic Package the M3 emblem and tinted lenses are optional.

Should you go that route and need to glue them on 3M makes a trim adhesive (Only 5 bucks at Autozone) that works great for attaching them. I used that on my E46 and it worked like a charm with just a dab. Just make sure to avoid things like Gorilla Glue because that will expand and protrude out from the emblem and need skillfully trimmed away....

They are just OEM replacements so the grills would just clip right back in. Only things that usually use tape would be lips and diffusers....

Check out the sticky threads here pretty much everything from grills to alignment is covered:

http://www.m3post.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=208

They're helpful and show you great simple ways to do everything...

Really helpful, I just emailed IND. Thanks again.

By the way, that OEM mod looks incredible, but has anybody commented on interior drone? Those are pretty much straight pipes!

No Problem, you won't be disappointed with IND! They're a bunch of top notch guys that work there.

Can't comment about drone on that set up lol Could PM that vendor and see what they have to say. I'm not sure what part of New York your from but MAC is in Glen Cove and they also have a OEM exhaust mod that they offer as well. Their version is a little different, its not a complete muffler delete like the one I posted the link to. Still sounds good though

If you haven't done so already, I believe the 'best' mod which will give you the best return is a one-day HPDE class so you can really enjoy and safely appreciate the beast you bought It'll put the biggest smile on your face, possibly save a bit on your insurance, and keep you safer as a daily driver to boot (might cost you some excessive and grin-inducing tire wear though.)

+1 to that. Although it could also be the most costly mod in terms of both money and time. Once you're hooked, it'll become really expensive really fast...

Essential: Spacers - no excuse for not having spacers. Assuming no ill effects (occasionally users report vibrations for example) they are the best bang for your buck and IMO improve the stance of the E92 hugely. Big thread on it too so research is easy.
