Shimmy's Ikon CRT Lip Mini Review

We all like a little carbon fiber, right?! Yes! I’m currently running a BMWP spoiler, BMWP mirrors, and previously had a GTS rep lip from ACM installed. The ACM lip was short lived as I cracked it on some railroad tracks. To be honest, I wasn’t that bummed. Fitment was a 7/10. That being said, I wanted another lip. I wanted something subtle this time. So many lip options to choose from! So many vendors to buy from and with prices ranging from $200-$2000, I was on a budget this time.
Having done enough pic searching on M3post and google, I had the CRT lip as a top contender. Prices on this lip ranged from $200-$600 depending on make and vendor. Since my last lip only lasted a month, I figured I’d give some of these ebay lips a try. My ebay search began and I stumbled upon this:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Fits-08-13-...53.m1438.l2649

Here’s my review of the Ikon Motorsports CRT lip:
Fit: 9/10
Finish: 8/10
Cost: $200
Installation: if you can change oil, you can install this!

The lip arrived well packaged with plenty of foam and bubble wrap. No complaints here!

Overall, the finish is an 8/10. There is one area where the weave lays wavey. I wasn’t too happy about this, but its hardly noticeable when installed.

The fitment is pretty darn good. Everything lines up well and molds to the bumper lines close enough for an aftermarket lip. I’ll admit that it’s a small piece, so not much can go wrong here. I installed it using 3M auto tape along the edges and 3 smaller bolts/nuts/washers. Easy peasy!

I love that this lip is only $200. It’s on the cheaper end, with the same quality as a $400 CRT lip. I’d highly recommend this Ikon Motorsports CRT lip for those looking for an affordable nice piece. I’ll be buying another if this one cracks.

Nice. How much does it add (or rather reduce) on clearance?

My driveway is a pia and I'm currently scraping the plastic liner underneath. Been looking for a lip that doesn't add much

It doesn’t hang any lower than the bumper itself

shimmy23 how does this install with the 3 bolts? The OE way has brackets and such so I'm curious as I want to go this route too!

Something is off with it.... not the weave, but in the roundness of the bottom of the lip. It's too thick or something.

The only one that looks great besides the original seems to be the RKP one which is a direct replica of the original.

The RKP one looks thinner than the IKON one and since its a true replica mold of the OE CRT one, it has a different bottom area and doesn't have fat panel like the IKON one.

Though, its a $2000 vs $200 lip.. lol
