Do you still have the original interior? Let me know if you would be interested in selling.

is this custom or can it be purchased? would love to have one.
It was a custom made setup by bimmer performance center in Raleigh, NC. It was made specifically for the performance friction BBK, and the 372mm disc and hat.

I watched a few YouTube videos and ordered everything from soller composites. There are a lot of different types and specs of CF. It's actually not that difficult to make a decent CF piece. May not be perfect cosmetically but gets the job done.

Looks great!
Curious about the fitment of your 4119 as I'm looking at the same seat...

I'm looking at the wide for myself and nervous about fitment. Did you get the standard or wide width and how much clearance does it have at the pillar, etc?

So after I skidded off into the dirt at Buttonwillow about a month ago when my driver side front wheel studs sheared I decided to make some upgrades while replacing/repairing the damage. Bimmerspeed in San Diego is doing all the work.

Upgrades:

Brakes: The PFC Z31 Caliper got damaged when the wheel spun off so I am replacing them. Bimmerworld and PFC seem to be stopping support or at least sales of the Z54 and Z45 Caliper sets for these cars. So I went with an Alcon kit that Bimmerworld is now offering. Huge change in pad thickness and size similar to the AP racing kit.

Suspension: Changing out out almost all the front and rear with SPL Parts with all spherical bearings.

Hubs: to mitigate the risk of losing a stud again I got the 14mm press in stud hubs from Core4 motorsports.

Aero: Installing Bimmerworld's front splitter and dive planes and their carbon wing.

The MCS damper is being sent out for re build. Trying to eliminate as much risk as I can from unseen damage.

Here are some in progress shots, more to come:

What size and make studs sheared? I assume screw-in 12mm? You should be all set with the Core4 press-in 14mm ones!

12mm Apex screw in studs.

Here is what was left of the 2 I drilled out. On the left stud you can see some rust where I suspect it cracked earlier in its life which was probably un-detectable.

Either way- change your studs frequently!

My car looked almost exactly the same after I had the 5 studs on the driver front wheel shear, also sending me into the dirt. The PFC Z54 kit I have up front took it like a champ! Rotor is still perfect and the caliper only has some scuffs on the paint from when the wheel banged everything on the way out.

Glad to see you getting everything patched back up.

It seems insane that these are sold. They all fail right at the stress concentration zone which if you look at the design is predictable. Press-in studs are the only way to go as Core4 so clearly explains on their site. I guess the industry is just forging along until "the event" occurs which forces change. These parts should not have a fatigue life; they should be designed for infinite fatigue stress cycles like lug bolts from the manufacturer. It clearly can't be done with 12mm screw-in studs, but it's anyone's guess where a given stud is in terms of fatigue failure.

The price for sending in your own hubs to Core4 is fantastic as well! I think it was less than 200 for 14mm press ins to the front hubs if you send your own.

I replaced my front hubs after the off that I had back in January, so I think after the next track event I'm going to pull the hubs and send em off. My Bimmerworld Premium Race studs have 2 events on them, so I feel fairly safe running them for another event. That said, still a slight bit nervous, as the track I'm going back to is where my off happened, and I haven't been back since.

On a positive note, Apex replaced my ARC8 wheel free of charge based on the studs failing.

Really sorry to hear about your wheel falling off. I hope that the 14mm press-in solution makes problems like this a thing of the past.

These should start to show up on Bimmerworld's website soon. Took a while to get these together due to COVID and shipping delays. These look similar to the AP Racing kit, and we will see how they perform on track. Should be a solid upgrade from the PFC Z 31 kit I had before.

I'll post some more pics once they are installed next week.

Next steps are removing the entire wiring harness (i'll weigh it for sure), then dash removal, HVAC and AC compressor are coming out. Then the old weld in roll bar is coming out (wasn't NASA - SCCA compliant anyway) and I am having a full cage put in.

The new wiring harness build feels like the riskiest/ most anxiety inducing part.

Intent is to get to a ST3/TT3 car.
