I just finished testing a set of these at Mid-Ohio, and also found them be more grippy than NT01. My camber is -3.7 F, 2.2R, and I found that they seemed to like a little more pressure than 36....seemed like they rolled less, and had better wear, and felt better around 38-40 to be honest.

I honestly had no expectations for these. They honestly felt almost as grippy as Trofeo-R's. Pretty crazy. I normally run 275 square NT01 setup for the track, so I need to get some times at NCM where I have some solid data for Nittos. I have no doubt they are faster though.

Wear was good, and unlike new Nittos, which slid around a lot and cause you to literally peel the tread off, causing premature cording, these just seemed to grip with a lot less sliding, again, a lot like Trofeo-R's.

I'm also coming from square 275/35/18 NT01s...curious which tire sizes you went with and what wheel/wheels specs you run?

I have EC-7s, 18x10/et25 square and debating which wheel to switch to for wider rear...

For A052's in 295/30-18 square, I would suggest our 18x10.5" ET22.

For A052's in a 265/35-18 front / 295/30-18 rear staggered setup, I would suggest our 18x10"ET25 front and 18x11" ET44 rear with 15mm spacers (effective offset of ET29).

We are actually going to test both of these A052 configurations against the current 275 / 305 NT01 staggered setup on our E92 track/race car.

I'm having stupid thoughts about the 255/40-17 on my 17x10's. I saw a couple guys running 255/40-17 RE71's on 9.5's and 10's on S2000's at the track last weekend and it looks pretty decent, and the Yoke is wider by a good bit

They're about the same section width as the 275/40-17 Conti ECS I was considering for my next set of tires on these wheels, with MORE tread width by a tenth of an inch, and nice and short around the same height as various 30-series 18's. The wheel/tire package would weigh right at 40lb each. Space the rear out to get some cornering grip back maybe, but it'd still be pretty rowdy in the lower gears even with near stock power

It'd be slightly less idiotic to get the Falkens in 275/40 but they're old and I like new hotness, Every time I price 18" tires now I have to be defibrillated

Max and I will definitely be there, I'm just not sure the car will be complete by then. It is going to be REALLY close.

The car will definitely be ready for our big Laguna weekend in June though. The whole APEX crew will be out for that one

So I have some Apex FL-5 18x9 ET30 front and FL-5 18x10 ET25 rear on my E92. (Staggered sizes were deliberately purchased as dedicated wheels for auto cross street class rule compliance.)

Will I have any issues running Yokohama Advan A052 in a 265/35R18 square setup for road course use with these wheels?

Has anyone put 265/35R18 A052's on a 9.5" wheel? thinking about going with 265/35 and 295/30 with my TE37SL's 9.5 +22 and 10.5 +20

Did you end up doing this? Got same wheels, eyeballing the same tires and specs too.

Hey Ryan, how did testing go? I'm thinking of switching over to A052 in 275/35/18 square on my 18x10 ET25 square wheels. NT01 sales are hard to find now, so I might as well try something new. I'm most curious about how many heat cycles or days these tires can take vs. NT01

I believe you're stuck with 265/35/18 or 295/30/18 in a052

Nope, I saw pictures of the 295 mounted on 11” and it seemed too wide for a 10.5. But I might be wrong since I just eyeballed it.

Has anyone tried test fitting the 275/40/18 on a 10.5 up front? I’m assuming it’s too tall, just curious if it’s been tested. Most likely buying the 265’s for 10.5 square but figured I’d post in this thread and get thoughts first.

It would be quite tall. Total of ~1' more then a 275/35R18, meaning you'd lose 1/2' of clearance to your fender. It will mainly depend on how long your car is already.

That tire diameter will rub the fender liner when turning.

Got to try out the A052 in stock size on a track I've been to before. I've done 3 track days on these tires now, the two other times were on tracks that I don't usually drive regularly.

On Thunderhill East, I was able to knock 2 seconds off my lap time from 2:12 to 2:09.7 with no other changes going from AD08R to these in the same size. I've definitely more time to improve but the tires make a big difference. They also don't seem to get greasy as fast as other street tires like the RE71R and AD08R.

So is there any chance the 295/35 will work on the E92 with an 18x11 wheel with a spacer? I run my car with mdm on so would prefer a diameter closer to stock.

I'm not sure what your suspension set up is but I ran a 295/35 (street only) on stock zcp suspension for almost 6,000 miles with zero issues. Stock alignment, stock ride height on an 11in E88. Not sure of the offset off the top of my head, but I'll check my notes and see what it was.

I'm on stock ZCP suspension with -1.9 camber.

Overall diameter isn't going to cause any issues with MDM/DSC. It's not like you're going from a 15" wheel to 22s.

FWIW - 295/35/18 is not at all difficult to fit with the right offset (I used to run G-Force Rivals in that size and many of my friends and customers run 295/35/18 Michelin PSS). It's the same diameter as 295/30/19 which is also commonly used on this platform.

It just so happens that a friend and I purchased a 295/35/18 Yokohama A052 tire to test fitment. See pics below for a comparison to 295/30/18 Michelin Cup2. It appears to be about 10mm wider than the Cup2 at it's widest point on the sidewall.

Do you still have the single 295/35/18 tire you purchased? Want to sell it? PM me if interested..
Thanks
