You're referring to the Accessory Control Menu (ACM), which is a separate option.

Hey Genro, Would it be possible for you to take one more picture of the backup camera in action during the daytime? I would like to see how clear the picture shows up in the LCD screen in daylight. Thanks.

Nice job. Wish there was a cleaner way to install though. Like a flush mount in the boot lid or rear key hole (if there was one). Just not feeling how the camera hangs down protrudes. JMO though. Nice mod! )

Thanks man....I looked at other cars with OEM back up cameras (ie. my friends Lexus, X5 at dealership) and they all kinda protrude down...I guess it looks cleaner in person than in the pics...I'll post another one when I get back to Germany from a little distance away to show that it doesnt protrude that far down...I did look at other ones...but didnt wanna cut a hole in my bootlid and thought that the OEM one was the cleanest of them all...plus it warrantied from BMW =)

What does the wiring harness on the camera look like? Is it some sort of plug or does it require some splicing?

Genro- looks awesome. If you don't mind my asking, what did it run you, total, installed? Curious as to how many hours of labor are involved.

Cool! I'd be interested to see other pics. I am considering this mod if it doesn't stick out too much.

Since I'm here in Germany...I had to pay in Euros...so the conversion came out to be close to $1200...that includes parts and install...install was quite lengthy because it was the first time the dealership did the install on an M3 (and an American Spec M3 at that)....so total time was about 8 hours...the service manager told me that the instructions for install that came with the kit wasnt complete so they had to call Munich for a more detailed install guide.

AS soon as we can verify compatibility on US vehicles - along with coding, sure.

Genro, I'm curious to know if you have rear PDC and if it works in unison with the backup camera? I figure you won't be able to see the PDC graphics in the iDrive when the camera is in use, but still be able to hear the beeping if you get near an object.

Very interested in this, but $1200 seems pretty freakin steep. I'd rather spend that money on tv in the car.
