Idrive to non idrive swap question

Hi

Does anyone know if an idrive equipped car and a non idrive equipped car can swap with no problems? Is there any coding involved or wiring harness issues, does the idrive car have a different wiring harness that can't be swapped over or anything like that?

What are you swapping out between the two?

No main wiring harness issues, but you'd be swapping a lot of parts over. It's definitely doable and has been done before vice versa quite a bit. No reason it shouldn't work the other way around in your case.

everything, one car has idrive and one car doesn't, so it would be the dash + all the hardware required

bump, another question- non idrive car does not have Mdm (or the M button on the wheel), the idrive car does, will this be an issue?
