Stage 2 tune - Need a stage 2 clutch?

I recently got a catback exhaust, so I have no cats. I also got a stage 2 tune installed (Valvetronic exhaust, AlpineMSS tune). My car is a 6 speed manual.

I also got new rod bearings installed, so I have been babying the car for a bit even though bearings don't technically have a break-in period.

I decided it was about time to open up the throttle. I did a pull from a roll in 1st gear and floored it. My RPMs immediately shot up, but I didn't accelerate much, if at all. My TC light flashed, but it didn't feel like I even broke traction. Traction control was ON.

I was wondering if it was likely for the clutch to slip in this scenario. As I said, I was already rolling, so the clutch was already engaged. Has anyone with a similar setup experienced this? Do I need a stage 2 clutch?

I'm new to modifications, I've typically kept my BMWs stock, so forgive me for any missing knowledge.

I am supercharged on a stock clutch. Unless yours was already worn out, there is no way a stage 2 tune will cause clutch slip.

The 6MT in these cars are very robust. Couple that with a torque-less V8, the clutch is not an issue unless you abuse it with a lot of slippage.

Great info, thanks. What supercharger do you run?
