Definitely interested. If possible I'd look to have the car shipped to Knoxville and scoop it up there after flying in.

Would probably do a night in Lexington, KY, on my way home to Pittsburgh and hit a few bourbon distilleries if anyone is interested in coordinating that as well.

That's along the way! I didn't realize that this event is the forum's Dragon event. For clarification, I was referring to the Mvading the Dragon event in June that was mentioned earlier in this thread and last year's thread.

Are you referring to the summer run that is going on or possibly going to the 5th annual run after thanksgiving?

Is it even worth going on the weekend? From what I hear it gets way too busy

We are typically the only ones there at thanksgiving. I recall a few cars driving by and seeing us all parked. They pulled over and asked if they could get in line and run it with us. If I recall they may have been fairly local and did not expect to see a big group there. In the summer however it's a madhouse but I think that's part of the draw in that there are so many groups that go and car events to have fun and look at some cool cars regardless of the make and model.

Will be a group coming from NY/NJ/Mass area, you coming?

I have already spoken to the manager at One of the resorts (I'll look at my emails). I will post the info and the info on the family we are helping for the charity in the coming days.

@nycplumber- Tapoco Lodge and Fontana Village have lodging just a few miles away from Deal's Gap the origin point of the the TotD. Blue Ridge Parkway from Cherokee will take you to Asheville NC and its centerpiece attraction- Biltmore House. Also the BMWCCA Foundation Museum in Greer SC is 1.5 hours from Asheville. Current exhibit is historical BMW M cars.
The unpredictable November weather is our friend. It might be a 60 degree sunny day, or 20 degrees and blowing snow. Most people avoid this area after the leaves are down in October. Much less traffic.

Steve! Are you doing the Tail run this year? Gregory and I are definitely coming! You are so right about the relative quietness of the Tail in Nov, I think it's the sleeper best time to go.

Also excited about the M exhibit at the Foundation, hoping to go check it out sometime in the next couple weeks ♥️

Hello Mary- Yes, I plan to be at the TotD in November with my M3 buddies. Easy for me since it is a 90-minute drive from home.

I hope to see you on June 11 at this year's Highlands Motoring Festival. Incredible Porsches will be in the park- 550, speedster, 904, 906, 908, 916, 917, Peter Gregg 935, 959, 918. Plus Duesenbergs, Packards, and dozens of other very significant classics. Pretty busy time for me right now.

Awesome! I'm excited to do the tail run again this year, it's always a good time with good people. We'll see you there!

And, I'm sure it is a busy time for you, we're just a couple weeks away! We'll be at the Highlands Motoring Festival, we're bringing the pristine '73 911 RS to represent the shop. Honestly, it is such a great event, I can't imagine we would ever miss it. So, we will see you there soon too!
