Repurpose SOS button for valved exhaust?

Assuming I have a valved exhaust with a vacuum pump, I want to make it so the SOS button can toggle the valves on/off

There are caveats with this setup because it seems some intermediate PCB/controller/relay is required.

The exhaust controller has on and off signals, so the SOS button's press should be able to send open and close signals -- that is the desired end result.

Anyone done something similar?

I have this Double Apex exhaust toggle kit with the button located at the center console near the iDrive knob. It has a controller which you can set to have the valve open or close during startup. I don't see why you couldn't use the controller and modify it to work with your SOS button.

I saw your post actually! But this is sold out. It looks like it would be exactly what I am looking for. Any ideas where else to get this or something with the same functionality? To be honest, I just don't know the terms to Google. I've tried "exhaust button" etc but this seems to be the best I've found so far.

Just go on AliExpress and search for 'exhaust toggle controller'. Tons to choose from, some wireless some with physical switches. You mainly want the controller, you can use that to wire up to your SOS button. Good luck and do share your project here.

Oh wow great idea. Forgot about AliExpress even though I recently got paddles for 10 bucks there. I'll definitely share my project and post a guide too.

Thanks, I'll update if I end up ordering something

Can you explain more? What's jbbf?

Why not just use your home link buttons to control the valves? I use 2 for Open and 3 for close and still have 1 for my garage
