No question the M3. Just remember, the resale value and how unique the M3 is. Re the price, I will post the bulletin as soon as it is released (I was told definitely this week???).

If a dealer is mentioning specing and M3 in the same breath then you are in luck. Hang in there! Friends of mine are buying M5/6s as they know they will never get the M3. Trust me the M3 IS going to be the most exclusive BMW for some time. The pricing I have given previously is from a very trusted source and should be accurate, so if you get a M3 for 640k and only add a few extras like 19” rims, you really can’t go wrong! Just DON’T over spec.

EDC is a very nice option but not make or break. The std suspension setting will be fine, go test drive a new TT with that option (similar) to see if it is worth the cash. I am also going to take the extended leather it makes the car look great inside (see it on an M5). Navigation 99% won’t be std, the M drive pack will include navigation. One other option that I am taking is the high end sound it is very expensive but I believe it is far better than an after market system costing that amount of money. The reason I said don’t over spec is because people often order on a salesman’s suggestion and in the end get no value out of the options. Also consider comfort access, with the new starter button it really is cool.

The Pricing bulletin is ready but is waiting for top brass to sign it off and this can be any day now or whenever……

I have a source that will send it to me as it is released and I will then post the much anticipated bulletin as I get it.

I have a small update. The price has been revised UP we can now expect to pay about 650K. Still no std nav, but they will now include adaptive headlights, and as a no cost option carbon look leather interior trim. Just goes to show nothing is fact until we see the official bulletin.

888, something I'm not following here...are you saying:

fully loaded M3 will cost around R650K ?

E46 M3 base price was R545K....add another R30K odd and we reach around R580K which seems reasonable for the E90 M3, which is lower than the R598K for the RS4. Traditionally, BMW's have always been lower priced than Audi.

Bear in mind that the only extras on the RS4 are the Bose Sound System and SAT NAV..which takes it to around R625K ( fully loaded )...

So, are you sure that this E90 beast is going to cost around R650K ?

Anees.

NO, I wish. The price I have been given and not confirmed is about 650k with no options. See my previous posts in this thread. Look out for the price bulletin that I will post soon.

Remember we are talking E92 M3, not E90

The E90 M3 will be a lot cheaper and probably below the RS4 here.
E90 M3 is the direct competition for the RS4

The SA price for the RS4 is also way under european pricing, which isnt normal.
Some say Audi SA are selling them at a loss just to get market share in the future.

+1 .... did note that our RS4's are a bargain ... makes it all that more difficult for BMW SA ....

Sorry Fleet, I meant E92 M3....maybe Audi's strategy will pay off.
This is going to be exciting to watch...just have to wait for the damn pricing..

the RS4 was tested by CAR and did the 0-100km/h i 4.6/4.5 sec odd, lower than the 4.8s claim ... usually car tests the cars slower ... the E46 M3 was tested at i think 5.48 s ... quoted 5.2s ...

E9x M3 has a job on its hands ... the RS4 def raised the bar ...

anyone have the 0-200km/h from CAR on these two cars ...
