dyno sheet for my Dinan 4.6L

Im kinda disappointed in these numbers. does this seem right to you guys? Dinan claims 500+ HP on the motor. I am missing the Xpipe...

Mods: 4.6L board & stroked, Dinan 3.62 differential, dinan throttle bodies, Dinan free flow exhaust, Dinan High Flow intake, Dinan st2 front/rear break kit. Dinan stage 3 suspension.

380HP/ 296 TQ

Wowww Dinan 4.6l! I'm soo jealous, but as you were saying I was expected much higher numbers than that. You should get at least around 450whp with the engine, exhaust, intake. With the x-pipe you should probably get another +20whp?

A stock M3 gets around 340-360 on the dyno. But then again it depends on the dyno that you used as well as the temperature and what not.

What dyno were you using? Because something doesn't seem right.

I would have expected higher numbers. My car has MS Stage II Intake, MS Pullies, full catless Borla exhaust and I'm putting down 386hp/278tq in comparison

+1.

Seems like most people here use Dynojets. If you were on a Mustang or DynoDynamics you will definitely see significantly lower numbers depending on the correction utilized.

Please post the dyno sheets and log some data. it is difficult to say ANYTHING about your results. Without the supplementary data the opinions here are conjecture. Go back to the same dyno and log the following at a minimum.

-IATs
-AFRs
-Ambient

If the DME is reading IATs north of 100* F, this could explain your low numbers as the car will pull timing and the power will be neutered. Now if your IATs are within an acceptable range of ambient (15-20 degrees F) and these are your results, I may have concerns. You would be shocked how playing with the cooling fans can impact your results.

Mike

p.s. On another note, Dinan tunes have been notoriously conservative since the E36 days. Have you considered a more reputable E9X tuner with VANOS and cam control for your car? Ahem... NickG, Evolve, BMP?

Pretty sure those are Mustang numbers, but even at those numbers an additional 50 pounds of torque is pretty good.
Did you dyno before stroking?
Post the dyno sheet

Does Dinan provide any documentation on the motor when you purchase it?

Seems off, those better not be the numbers for a $30k mod.

There are some 4.6L in the dyno database on different dynos that the OP can compare to.

That doesn't make sense at all, unless they forgot to install the parts that actually increase displacement.

For your reference, my car makes 404 RWHP on a DynoJet with full exhaust and tune and thats it. 91 octane.

Depends on the dyno used. The only thing that should matter is what the car gained over stock on the same dyno. I have seen stock m3's dyno 320 whp to 370 whp on different dyno's so I would not be worried about the numbers unless you have a reference on the same dyno.
