In the end it's all just numbers...no matter whether it's paid up front or over time. I'd rather take that saved money and buy a real investment that can bring a return.

If you can afford this car outright, having payments means nothing but understanding opportunity cost of money. If you can't afford this car outright, having payments means you just can't afford this car....

I like buying what I want when I want and sometimes I just don't have the cash saved up when a deal arrives. But I did pay more than needed every month and the last 18 months I have paid 1.5 times the amount needed to save in interest. Overall it worked out, the car is paid for, and in BMW financial eyes I'm the type of person they are looking for when it comes to loaning money

You're right, money better used elsewhere. Maybe you 'll hit a nice investment that will pay the car off sooner than expected. You never know. And if it's the black one in your signature very nice!!!!
