Why ZCP hyper silver color so difficult to replicate?
So time has come to powder coat my zcp wheels. Seems like hyper silver is this mythical color no one can replicate . What gives? Isn't there just a basic paint code i can give the shop?
Has anyone successfully matched hypersilver pls post pics? |

There's a three coat process to achieve M "hyper silver" finish. You won't achieve it powder coating, only painting. PC'ing will be a more durable finish but won't get you the shadowy luster one desires from a ZCP stock wheel. Google any where close to you who offer wheel refinishing for insurance companies.. any car that's been involved in an accident will always get a used "matched" wheel to keep costs lower.. Ask your local if they can paint them.

This is a painted wheel, has more depth than a powder coated. This was refinished. There's a few different methods for pc'ing metallic coats..
Find a reputable shop and see how well they can match one. They'll get close enough, I get the want to powder coat but a cleared painted will always look better.

If it's too concerning to replicate, some just sell current wheels and pick up brand new ones.
I think I would consider that route instead of the potential nightmare being unsatisfied with a poor matching powdercoat. I actually think I would just get a square setup of rear wheels. |

It can totally be achieved via powder coating. I had two of them refinished to match two originals, and the finish was absolutely flawless compared to the originals. I think it needs a white base coat with super chrome powder on top. This is with respect to Prismatic Powders.
