A lot of people packed up and went home before that race. It was miserably hot and the schedule had a 40min race. Definitely Not the best scheduling idea lol
SM had a couple of good battles going on but that was really it for that race.

I think 3 out of 12 spec miatas lost transmissions, 3 more had damage from incidents, and one lost a motor. Heard some similar stories from the other racing classes including two drivers nearly getting into a fight in impound after Race 2 on Sunday...
If people would just sign up early so they can separate high/low Hp racecars at a track like that it probably would have been much less issue but oh well. AMCM insisted on doing standing starts which also made the starts challenging to setup 3 waves of cars lol

We got lucky and had nothing really with our cars thankfully, but I did have a close call in TT Sunday morning nearly rear ending a TTU car who parked it in T11 after blowing the braking zone and locking up their brakes...

I saw one of the standing starts and it looks like they didn't even try. 3 out of 6 of them stalled. What's the point?

Sounds like getting through the weekend in one piece was a win all in itself! Good job dodging the TTU guys and angry racers! Heard the bumper cars started first thing saturday in qualy with some STU on SM action.

Didn't realize they mixed a standing start into one of the three starting groups - wow. Two starting groups at most and no place for a standing start with others on the track - especially with all the classes being out there.

Still wish I had made it though - haven't been able to race in awhile and my schedule is already looking bleak for the rest of the year. Damn real life getting in the way of the fun stuff
