Turtle Ceramic Spray Coating?

Hi guys,

seen a lot of rave about Turtle's ceramic spray (green isch bottle). Yeah I know they all come out great on internet but this one really made an impression. Anyways, finally manages to order a bottle (only recently available locally). I'll give it a try and come back.

Mean while, haven't seen anything about it here, anyone tried it?

I tried the Meguiars Ceramic Spray wax. Good shine, three ways to apply.. ranged from super easy (spray and rinse) to challenging (dry spray and wipe). Good shine. We’ll see how it holds up. Has been in the garage since I last cleaned the car.

Saw some comparisons with Mequiars ceramic spray, seems also great. Pretty much always using degreaser over here it will be interesting to see how Turtle withstand that, if at all. I'll get back after some washing.

Yes, Turtles seems to work so far. Comparing with spray waxes cause similar price/work. Turtle hold up much better after s proper degrease/wash.

Not happy with the Meguiar's one. Too intensive to apply (dry and wipe) and doesn't last anywhere near as long as my old Zaino Clear Seal.

I've had phenomenal results with the meguiars Hybrid Ceramic wax... the first application I usually do dry after a decon, last time I did it after a sealant..then reapplications are pretty easy if I don't have time. I have found the gloss, hydrophobic abilities, and durability very solid.

Been using Mequiars Quick Detailer for quite some time. Very nice to work with, lovely surface just after - but immediately gone after first degrease. Probably their Ceramic product is much better but again opted for Turtle once I managed to get one. First wash was impressive - again not a pro detailer so compared with quick detailing products - will be very interestig to see the durability.

Yeah I bet this is equally good. Went Turtle by chance, but it does seem to come out better in quite a few reviews. We'll see how it goes.

Btw never used claying although I'm aware the serious guys does. Instead been using 3M light polish (light blue cap) for both boats and cars. Working it by hand, basically cleaning the paint rather than polishing. Have proven to be very effective, great to work with too.

Used the turtle wax seal n shine on my daily pickup and it’s held up for 6 months now. The paint is still hydrophobic and feels slick. Easy to apply and was dirt cheap (less than $8 for the bottle).

Is that the same as the "Ice seal n shine", red/black isch spray bottle?

That will be the "sister" product to the one I purchased. Paid $35 with freight, vs your $8... If I only could enjoy the US pricing...

i have been using meguiars ceramic spray...it works well and for the price point i would rather use this product instead of paying 35.00 for hydrosilex (a product i really like )

I dont mind 35 buck if the product hold up good, saves time and no volumes over time has to be used anyhow. Washed another round today and seems fine so far. We'll see.

I haven't tried those, but I've liked Sonax Net Polymer Shield lately. It's super easy to apply and seems to last 6+ months with a single coat. It doesn't have the deep gloss of a butter wax, but I'm looking for ease of application and protection most so it's my go-to now. Worth looking into perhaps ...

Timing, just back from washing the car: used 2 cans of SNP after reading about the rave couple of years ago. Never really fell in love, not that easy to work with but more over didn't seem to keep protection that good. Ended up as rim protection. Tryed Sonax brilliant shine also, same thing, bit sticky to work with and didn't stay.
Keep in mind I'm using degreaser basically every wash.

The Turtle ceramic spray work better no doubt. Stayen on for at least first weeks and couple of washes (the others repelling was gone after first degrease), and very easy and nice to work with.

Added a 2nd layer today and we'll see. I'm a fan, at least for the first bottle!

Ps. Should add that the shine from Turtle is great. AW paint which obviously is easier to please.

Just back after another wash. Turtle's ceramic spray so far continue to hold up. Simply love that a 3min high pressure run with water only keeps things in ok shape rather then working my a of every weekend. Getting lazy I guess.

The effectiveness and durability of those ceramic products is largely dependent on the surface prep work. If you don't decontaminate and polish first, adhesion will be poor and it will wear off fast.

What condition was your paint in and what did you do to clean the surface besides washing?

Mines been going strong as well. Did a full decon and correction prior and the TW ceramic spray has been a pretty decent product. I used to use the Mequires hybrid ceramic and it was also good.. TW has a little more gloss, but both are extremely hydrophobic.
