Lease Compare is showing pricing

Just noticed this morning that leasecompare.com will show lease pricing for the M3 now. You have to enter the amount you expect to pay, they don't have the ability to choose the options etc.. yet. Pricing seems pretty close to what I expected.

So I was playing with the leasecompare calculator and if I put the same purchase price in for the sedan and coupe, you actually get better lease pricing on the coupe. This is counter to the numbers from BMW.

Hi Geoff!

We have been extremely busy for the last three months so I thought it was good to give everyone a day off.

They will be back in full swing on Monday and will expedite your lease.

Thanks for the opportunity.

Has it been confirmed then that leasecompare can beat BMWFS?

If so, my paperwork was supposed to be overnighted byBMWFS for execution this Monday...I'd switch to leasecompare, but the quote online seemed to be about the same as what BMWFS quoted...

LeaseCompare:

I gave my employees the day off as well. Extra time with the family on Easter weekend goes a long way...

LC rates are about .002s where BMWFS base rate is .00258 for SuperElite. BMWFS residuals are a little higher, but this is a vehicle you will want to sell at the end of the lease so a lower residual will put you in more of an equity situation.

I do know we are getting a lot of apps on these right now.

I have just spoken with Tarry @ LeaseCompare. I am so far VERY pleased with the service I received. I am going to push back my delivery until Thursday so i can do business with these guys instead of BMWFS.

I'll keep you guys updated as I go through the steps with these folks, but so far so good!

In other news, i just spoke with my CA and he said BMWFS is aware of the stiff competition out there and he is guessing they will bring their lease rates in line with third party rates very quickly. I guess they want to take advantage of those too lazy to do the leg work in the early stages of the release...

-Geoff

P.S. I am all for days off of work... just not when I am trying to get an M3!!!!

I went through their online quote and when asked where I heard about them i input "www.m3post.com". Some people understand the importance of online forums in regards to driving business! I have a feeling Tarry gets it.

This is the kind of rate information I post on about 15 different automotive forums.

BMW Financial Services Lease Programs – 3/5/08

Special bank lease programs for these models are available through independent leasing source LeaseCompare.com. Click on the vehicle name for more information and to see payments details.

2008 BMW M3 Coupe
24 Month – Residual 64% of MSRP – .00258 Base Rate
36 Month – Residual 53% of MSRP – .00258 Base Rate
48 Month – Residual 43% of MSRP – .00258 Base Rate
60 Month – Residual 35% of MSRP – .00258 Base Rate

2008 BMW M3 Sedan
24 Month – Residual 66% of MSRP – .00258 Base Rate
36 Month – Residual 55% of MSRP – .00258 Base Rate
48 Month – Residual 44% of MSRP – .00258 Base Rate
60 Month – Residual 35% of MSRP – .00258 Base Rate

Residuals posted are for 15K miles/year. Add 2% to Residual for 12k mi/yr and 3% for 10k mi/yr on all terms

Compare Lease Payments for Used BMW Models HERE

Use the following formula to calculate a lease payment:

(Cap Cost – Residual Value) / Term = Depreciation
(Cap Cost + Residual Value) X Money Factor = Interest
Depreciation + Interest = Base Monthly Payment

NOTE: These lease programs are provided by dealer partners of LeaseCompare.com and are for reference only. Rates may vary by region. Your dealer has the option of offering you a higher rate. To make sure you are getting the best lease, compare these rates through an independent leasing source such as LeaseCompare.com.

Here is a great online publication about leasing: Auto Lease Insider.

Yeah, thanks for the referral, Geoff. I'll be calling them to check and see Monday or Tuesday after I receive the BMW paperwork, so I have hard numbers to compare it to.

Leasecompare offers me 6k miles per year more, for 3 month lease lease. so im getting free miles, with shorter lease. good i think

I'm almost ready to file an app with leasecompare. but still shopping around, i have a couple of weeks to spare, i might as well.

Edit: leasecompare numbers mean banks have released rates for the car, i think it's worth entertaining the idea of shopping around IMHO

It is certainly worth shopping around. BMWFS is counting on 3 types of people to lease the M3 through them right now:

1 - people who don't know any better
2 - people who are too lazy to do any leg work
3 - people who have so much F'ing money they just don't care

I don't fit into any of those categories, so I'm shopping around

one problem that's concerning me right now is: will the dealers agree to give the lease to something other than BMWFS?
the reason why i ask is the dealers are interested in doing a loan thru BMWFS since the finance manager gets a slight portion of the interest.

any thoughts on that?? Leasecompare might want to chime in?

they have no choice... the lease company simply purchases the car on your behalf. To the dealer it's the same as a cash purchase.

p.s. I must show restraint... my dealer just called and said i could pick up my car tomorrow!!!! That would, of course, mean financing through BMWFS. Should I wait until next thursday to go through a third party or should I throw caution to the wind and eat the shitty lease?

you can always have a 3rd party buy that same car and lease it out to you, right? im not sure, but i think you can.

honestly, for a 3-4 day difference i would wait, coz every time you write that check u'll be like why didnt i wait?

You have to take into account Returning BMWFS customers get the security deposit waived and slightly better lease rates. However I am using the additional research I have been doing to have some leaverage with my dealer when it comes to the final number. Hey and if they don't give I'll just finance the car through leasecompare
