Any Hookah owners here?

I have smoked out of it a few times now and enjoy it and was thinking of getting one for the house. I have looked on ebay and see alot of them going for around 60 bucks with 2-4 hoses. I check some stores online and similar looking ones are 100-200 bucks. Cany anyone point me in the right directions on where to look and what the best bang for the bucks is. Really just looking for 2-4 hoses that looks kinda cool but isnt to expensive.

That fucker drags me to his house/hookah lounge almost every day to smoke hookah with him. But usually they range from 60-200 bucks for a pretty decent one and also, don't cheap out on the hose. It makes a HUGE difference in how the hookah hits and how much smoke comes out of it.

Flavors I'd recommend in my fav order: Honeydoo mint, white peach raspberry, straight mint, sex on the beach, code 69.

Most quality would be from a ONE hose hookah. If you want two hose hookah, go for it.. if you dont smoke much, you wont even notice the difference. But do not get 3 for 4 hose hookah... I feel like you dont know much about hookah, I would suggest youtubing on how to set a hookah up, how to pack it, what brand flavors are "better."

The larger hookah pipe you buy (as in taller hookah), the better quality you will get. Small ones are suck, I have experience with them. Buy a large one, i forget what brand names are good, i used to be a hookah fiend ( 4-5 sessions a week).. but i stopped smoking, it does harm you. Just google, you will find a lot of info. one hose ones are the best. multiple hoses are not so good. a good one is around $100. get good tabacco like starbuzz and good coals like the coconut ones and just practice packing and setting up till u get it right!

Yeah i dont know much about it. Usually just smoke with my buddies. Im looking into now and seeing what are the best ways to go. I appreciate the help and will PM you for sure once i read up!

I doubt it because straight tobacco doesn't have most of the shitty chemicals that cigarettes do...

Everything said in this thread is pretty much accurate. My only advice is, buy a hookah that is made in the middle east. The ones that are made in china are garbage.

As far as flavors go, when I went to Lebanon this past summer, we smoked lemon mint religiously. I'm hooked on it now. It's very smooth. I also like pomegranate but sometimes it's hard to find.

I'd probably say to start get a small Mya hookah. It is a Chinese brand but are definitely a quality piece that will last a while. Once you know what you are doing and if you want to continue your hobby upgrade to a Khalil Mamoon (one of the better brands you can buy) or something similar. Definitely get a washable hose. After a while flavors will ghost the hose and just taste like the same thing so a washable hose really helps.

Those forums will teach you pretty much all you need to know about setting up a hookah and having a good session.

Youtube also has a vast amount of videos from setting up a hookah to flavor reviews so definitely check that out too.

I think one or multiple hoses hit the same, just cover the other hose up. Yeah, mostly hookah at friends houses. Dont own one of my own haha.

For those who want a silky smooth Hookah experience, fill the hookah with milk or coconut water instead of water and use peach flavored tobacco.
But if you think you are tough, use apple flavored tobacco then come and tell us about your experience.

After doing it for years I've learned some things:

- 1 hose is def better than 2 or more hoses. Like others have said you usually need to cover up the other hoses with your finger if you want to get a good smoke but what's the point in that? If you say you could live with 2 hose pipes then just buy 2 good shishas and it will be MUCH better.

- Mya shishas are good but yeah I recommened ones like Khalil Mamoon and I wouldn't get a cheap hose because usually they aren't washable. I would recommend buying a decent hose that you can remove the pipe at the top. The reason for this is because you can then later add in an "ice pipe" (google it) which will give you really good sessions. The ice pipe makes the smoke cooler/smoother and can be re-used.

- For flavours I recommened Al-Fakher and Starbuzz as brands. Quality is top, just make sure you don't buy fake ones. Cheap brands and fake ones tend to burn very quickly and the flavour isn't so good. For Al-Fakher I recommend double apple, white grape/mint, mixed berry, orange/mint. Starbuzz best ones include blue mist, pirates cave, sex on the beach, etc. I think it's best to try different flavours then you will know which ones you like most.

- Also, at the bottom of the shisha you can put fresh lemon and ice in the water or orange peels etc. They just add a little bit of flavour. If you want really thick smoke you can even put milk in but I've stopped that now.

- Oh yeah and 2 other things. Buy a bigger shisha. I know a lot of people hate small ones but I actually used to like them because you get instant big smoke. However, now I find that if you set it up properly you can still get that with big shishas and it will be a LOT smoother. Secondly, when you put tobacco in the bowl do not fill it to the top. The tobacco will touch the foil and it will burn and give you a really bad taste.

These days I try to limit shisha to once a week and I hope to stop completely. It is bad for you as others have said. Don't listen to people that tell you it is filtered through the water because at the end of the day while the tobacco may be nicotine/tar free you are still inhaling coal. Avoid the "quick-light" coals because they also have added chemicals to make them burn quicker. Very bad for you.

I have three hookahs. A smaller 1-hose of maybe 20 inches or so would be a great one to start with. Make sure to get a nice hose that you can wash and that has a large inner diameter for bigger pulls. All of mine are a brand called Narbish which are like the KM hoses, huge clouds come out of those things. Also the single biggest contributor to the flavor is heat control so you will want to be absolutely sure of how to set it up. Look online for info on how to do this or read on hookah forums which should have some sort of DIY.

Have fun with how you prepare it. Try lemon and ice in the base (although ice takes out some flavor it thickens the smoke) or a sprinkle of rosewater in the normal water. Try it with vodka and get really drunk really fast, or milk for a thick creamy smoke. Just make sure to wash it thoroughly after milk. Try mixing just two flavors or so many that you don't remember them all.

Finally a hookah is a social smoke. I enjoy a solo one from time to time but they're much better with a small group to hold conversation over.

Mya or Khalil mamoon hookah...only get 1 hosed hookah asmultiple hose hookahs usually dont smoke as well...Al fakher or starbuzz shisha,Coconara coals,nammor hose. I have been smoking for years now, and have been through atleast 25+ hookahs. I now own a Mya and khalil mamoon.. Mya is a modern design and portable, its chinese, but not the cheap chinese..khalil mamoon is tradition design, large usually, and hand made....just depends on your taste, but these 2 are the BEST..Mya can run from $50-$400...and Khalil mamoons can run $75-$300....i would really recommend Mya Acrylic hookah, its what i have. From a Lebanese person that grew up around hookah or as we call it arguile.. Egyptian hookahs are the way to go! Get a Khalil Mamoon!
