Just finished my rig upgrade. This should be nice and stout. Will post pics with it behind the monitors tonight!

Amazing setup, love that the monitors are attached to the motion rig, that's a big plus!

Thoughts on monitors being attached to the motion rig? I know I would prefer it, but the monitors would need to be solid to the mounts to not move out of place, and most stands aren't designed that way.

Also, how the hell do you get in and out of that?!

Here is what mine currently looks like now. Items left to add would be a pro-sim shifter to replace my DIY Boite SRT shifter, seat belt tensioner and D-Box for motion.

How are the sfx motion sim? I was thinking of buying a sfx-150 kit. Worth a couple grand? Also are you running 220v for them? All the drivers seem to be 220v.

I just noticed the flight stick base. I've been contemplating a center stick. I really want to find a better way to mount the throttle thats easily movable out of the way of entry.

Picked up a Simutec SDU-2 sim racing dash display. It's a pretty cool little unit. And it allowed me to eliminate the virtual wheel and hands too.

Sim Rig

Here's my iRacing setup. It's a kinda crappy Obutto rig and one of the rails on my racing seat broke... So I went and pulled the passenger seat from my 97 M3 which is permanently parked in my mother's garage and mounted it in place of the old seat. Had to make a few rig mods to get it to fit. 12v power supply brought the electronic seat movements to life as well.

My tiny office also contains a 3D printer, full 88 key keyboard (piano), and a Zwift bike racing rig, and all my hockey gear. It's tight. Literally.

This is also my first post to the forum, so hello everybody! Just bought a hybrid 2016 x5 yesterday, so my family has gone full BMW.

I started with one made out of 2x3 lumber. As long as it works for you thats all that matters!

Also welcome to the forums!

Hi all. Looking to get into sim racing and am starting to plan out my build.

I'm looking at either a ASR4 or a Sim Lab Evo GT1 chassis. I have a set of stock OEM F87 M2C seats that I'd like to integrate into the sim rig, but am unsure how I'm going to do it. I pulled the OEM seats from my car and replaced them with bucket seats with the OEM sliders. I'd figured 'Hey, I have these stock seats laying around, might as well figure out how to use them'.

Now the question is how would I mount the stock seat to a 8020 rig but without the stock sliders/rails.. am I going to need to source some sliders off of ebay and/or a junkyard? Anyone have experience with this?

Hey, @gopropham! It's great that you're getting into sim racing! Integrating your stock OEM F87 M2C seats into your sim rig sounds like a cool idea. Since you've removed the stock sliders/rails, sourcing sliders from places like eBay or a junkyard might be a good option. It's always interesting to see how enthusiasts come up with creative solutions to customize their setups. If you're looking for more creative ideas, you might find inspiration from decoupage projects. It's not directly related to sim rigs, but who knows, you might find a unique touch to add to your setup!

Moza is announcing something with console compatibility on Aug 26th. I might wait to see what that is about. That said reviews on the logitech DD were fairly positive. I'd just check on wheel ecosystems before you buy in. Logitech is very new to DD.

OK fellas, here's where i am at. I have a T150 and basic, basic foldable rig for my GT7 escapades and I cannot use it to save my god damn life. I am all over the bloody road. I thought it was just me but got to use a Fanatec set up at an automotive event and sweet baby jesus it was incredible and in just 3 laps I felt way more on it (it too was GT7).

So i am in the process of looking for a PS5 compatible fanatec system and it seems the only one available new is the Gran Turismo bundle. https://fanatec.com/us-en/racing-whe...MjUwMi4wLjAuMA..

Questions, as i am REALLY confused by the Fanatec product line and their web site is an absolute abomination.

- Am I correct in saying this is my only Direct Drive alternative for PS5?

- Can use the base pedals that come with the bundle and just purchase the load cell kit to upgrade?

- Can I one day upgrade the wheel and if so do i need to buy just the wheel itself or do i need to buy both a wheel and what appears to be a bolt on paddle shift "hub"? I am a bit lost as to why the wheels don't come with paddle shifters but the Gran Turismo bundle above appears to have an integrated hub.

I realise some of these are newb questions but would appreciate some clarity.

Logitech has a DD that is ps compatible. Moza is supposedly releasing one.

For ps5 I think you need to use pedals that connect through the base. I think a set of fanatec loadcell pedals should work, but using another brand wont. (I don't have a ps5, just what I've heard)

Wheel upgrades depend a bit on brand and specific model. A lot of the time they are just a 70mm bolt circle like any aftermarket wheel. You do have to look out for things like switched mounted through the wheel or button boxes that extend past the mounting plane. Some are explicitly designed to be swappable. That GT wheel does not look like it is swappable. You'd have to buy a new wheel.

Got this rig set up earlier this year (mid-Jan). It's been a blast, and it's super helpful to practice a track on here through either iRacing or Garage61, and then drive it in real life. I should say though... The AMG GT4 in iRacing is MUCH more real than the BMW GT4. Just my opinion...
