I have a 2008 M3 and in 2009 they upgraded the navigation system incuding the idrive knob controller. CLick on the link below to see what the new one looks like.

you maybe able to sell only a knob to E9X non M3 guys since unit is the same but they have ugly knobs (07-08 3 series)
I think you'll have more luck selling them over E90Post side.
