In answer to your question……I have a 2012 M3 Coupe painted in Jerez Black with Bamboo interior……I LOVE it…….the color jumps out in the sun…..a very dark blue……..I wash it once a week and constantly receive comments on the color……color selection is a personal choice……have fun with the M3 no matter what color you end up with…..good luck !!!

Jerez is Gorgeous. I love my Jet Black. I put one of each side by side on the lot to make my decision. The way the light turns Jerez is beautiful.

When I was first looking for an E92, I was certain I would only purchase an Alpine White on Fox Red. I searched for months until I found one and went to look at it. Very cool combo for the E92. It's flashy and fits the M3 well.
However, on the lot they also had a Jerez on Bamboo. This was a combo I never considered. I mean tan interior in an M3? Come on. I now own the later. The Jerez was so much more captivating with its various shades and hues of blue and purple. It has a near pearlescent effect at times, which changes color through the day. The tan interior fits the Jerez perfectly, in fact I would argue it's the only combo that really works with Jerez as the black interior is a dark, similar shade, yet too obviously different. The red is too bright and not a complimentary color to the purple/blue shades of Jerez. The light tan offsets the dark blues and purples very well and doesn't get hot in this Florida sun. Though a seemingly unpopular opinion on the forums here, I am very happy with my decision. |

jerez has multiple personalities and theyre all beautiful!
park under a street light or parking lot light at night take a couple steps back and you'll understand! and its not really more maintenance, you can just get away with being filthy longer with AW. Just use a proper sealant. |

I do not own a black M3, but my wifes car is a black vehicle. Anyone who owns a black car will tell you.
You shouldn't buy a black car. Some of these pictures I see of nice clean and waxed black M3s, honestly they are beautiful guys. Until you move them. If you wash your car and wax to take to a car show or cars & coffee, by the time you make it to the cars and coffee your car is dirty. I will never buy a black car again, not for my wifes commuter car let alone my performance car. |

Jerez black is never clean, needs a paint correction every three months, I’ve just decided to wrap the car instead. Only good thing is the door jams are JB so I can do a dark colored wrap and it won’t look weird.

How is the Jerez Black Paint?
I located a few 09 M3s, I may be interested in. Unfortunately most are black, and while not a huge fan of black cars Jerez has so much change to it I may have to look into it harder. This said, how is the quality of the paint, usual BMW orange peel? Is it impossible to keep clean and such?
The car would be JB, Black Leather, Carbon trim. __________________ 11' E90 M3 6MT | Jerez Black | Black Ext./Carbon | ZCP | ZCW | ZPP | ZTP | 302 | 403 | 507 | 5AC | 655 | 6FL | 752 | 15' F80 M3 6MT | Black Saphire | Black Full | ZEC | ZLP | 2VF | 2VZ | 5DL | 688 | |

i've had couple previous cars with orange peel, not this one.
My 09 Jerez black has 0 orange peel. I bought it CPO in 2012, which was in 95% shape in terms of paint. Just simple house garage parking + hand wash. I don't spend 100 hrs detailing the car, but I do the basic careful hand carwash + quick liquid wax. With that said, it's just like any other black color, you will see everyday scratches here and there. Oh, and it does show beautiful blue hue under light

Orange peel will vary from one car to the next. Darker colors will make it more visible than others. You could literally have two cars painted the same week that have vastly different levels of orange peel. As much as they try to control the processes and automate them, there is always variation. Paint is complicated as are the surfaces it sticks to.
Also remember that not all panels are painted at the same factory; most car companies have suppliers produce bumpers or other components for them so the color and finish is sometimes just slightly off. Go to any dealer and walk the lot, looking at the color of the bumper versus the fender. Many of them don't match perfectly.

Every time I've owned a black vehicle, I say I'll never buy another one. Yet I keep buying them. When I saw photos of this car online, I told myself, "It's not totally black. It'll be much easier to keep looking good." I was wrong. Whether black-black or Jerez Black, it's black. And it's one more addiction, like tobacco. You know it's killing you, but you keep doing it.

You can always paint correct it to as close to perfection as possible, then do the whole car in ppf with self healing film like Suntek or Xpel. I did this to a black GT350R, and while it still collects and shows dust after driving for a short while, upkeep and swirl mitigation is way easier. I would spray/wipe down a dirty car with a rinseless wash...a horrible idea otherwise.
