Headed to work this morning, in the slow lane and fast lane traffic is moving faster than I was (I was doing about 78ish in a 65). I made the cop as I crested the hill, and no sooner than I lifted off the throttle, the laser warning went off. Braked, turned it off, and kept on about my way.
This unit has already paid for itself |

Have LI moments on a regular basis. I'm picky about what mods I do to my car and I was worried I might regret going this far with a radar / laser setup, but this was a great investment and gives me a higher degree of enjoyment from the car.

Latest incident: On 1/31/17, I was driving NB in New Braunfels, which is about 20 miles N. of San Antonio. It was a little past midnight, and I was moving at a decent clip. The laser warning went off twice, the warning tones overlapping. Normally, I've been hit, then hit again after a few seconds, but the succession was so quick, it was definitely 2 guns....which is strange to say the least. I turned it off, slowed my roll, and started looking for the source. A couple seconds later I saw 2 LEOs in a parking lot right by the on ramp. One guy I saw in his car w/his window down, the second I guy I saw walking over to the first, looking at his gun and then showing it to the other guy so they could compare. I figured they'd put two and two together since both units were jammed, and that they'd be rolling on the freeway at any moment, so I kinda got back in it as I wanted to put a little distance between us. IH-35 sweeps left a little past where all this occurred, and I rolled around the corner and had to slow down again as there were literally a half dozen squad cars that had cars/big rigs pulled over on the NB side, and 4 squad cars that had cars/big rigs pulled over on the SB side. Seems they were speed trapping 35. I ducked into Buckee's for some fuel and sat for about 10 minutes, just to be on the safe side.
I need to get around to hooking up the rear sensors soon. |

Dang you got lucky... I have a Valentine V1 but no laser jammer. I was speeding to Austin from Houston (trying to make it under 2 hrs) on 71 hwy when I was hit with the laser from behind after passing a bridge. I braked but it was too late. Next thing I saw was the cop lights on top the bridge. I knew had some distance so I gunned it and took the next exit and parked at the gas station. The cop saw what I did and didn't like it. I got caught and I could have sworn I was going to jail. I was in the back seat of the cop car with another back up cop car. But thankfully I didn't go to jail and I got off with a speeding ticket... Since then, all my speeding is done at the track, and that has kept me ticket free for 2 years. I don't even use my Valentine anymore. But it's sure good to have a laser jammer when speeding becuase radars warn you but lasers can get you instantly.

I removed the LI prior to selling the M, and reinstalled it on the Audi. The setup is really, really, clean, and isn't visible behind the RS4 rep grille. I was at the light (on Parmer near the Apple campus for the locals) this morning, and a Mercedes C250 was lined up next to me. When the light turned green, I rolled into the throttle. The Mercedes was in my blind spot for a few, so I sped up a bit. He dropped back. About 10 seconds later, I could see him coming up. I was doing about 70ish (in a 60), and crested a hill. LEO was on the right side of the road in a driveway, and no sooner than I saw him, the alarm went off. I turned off the LI then engine braked. And then I saw the Mercedes crest the same hill, and I saw the light rack go on. It was a toss up, and for a second I thought he figured out what happened and was coming after me. Nopers, it was the C250.
This thing has got to be the single most solid investment I've made for my vehicles, and has paid for itself many times over. I'm glad I took the time to put it back on. |

Laser Interceptor stopped selling under that name and eventually came to an agreement with Escort to sell under them. Exact same unit and modules, but make sure you look for the Laser Shifter Pro, not the ZR4. https://www.stealthveil.com/guides/l...t-laser-jammer https://www.ebay.com/itm/254101556500 They also bundled them with the 9500ci radar detector: https://www.ebay.com/itm/173716034481 There is a high power unit, and a lower power unit. I've had the lo-po and it's never failed me. The setup I'm running has front and rear sensors, though (4 total.) It's also the BMW variant which allows for the front sensors to be mounted vertically between the grille slats. Pics of my original install here: https://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=765432 There's also another manu. that I've had my eye on, and may upgrade to at a later time, but I'm not in a rush. This is a great place to get some add'l info on what's on the market: https://www.rdforum.org/content/ Last edited by whats77inaname; 01-30-2019 at 10:28 PM.. |

https://www.escortradar.com/pages/do...etector-tools# Looks like the latest for the LaserShifterPro is 5 years ago. I'd have to check which firmware I'm running, but I know I've only updated it once since I've had it, and that was when I first picked it up. Still taking care of business, as you can see, but I might get around to updating in a few weeks. Last edited by whats77inaname; 01-31-2019 at 01:20 PM.. |

I'm not sure, and I don't like to comment on things like this if I can't find a source of the information to back up the opinion. Making false assertions can be the difference between someone getting a ticket and someone *not*. I'll see if I can dig anything up.
