New M3 Owner

Hello all,

For my very first post, I wanted to share that I recently purchased a 2008 M3 E93 about a month ago at a dealership in Vegas. It's a 6MT with 65k miles on it. I am the 2nd owner and I'm not sure who the original owner was but according to Carfax they were from California. The trunk has lingering smell of weed so I thought that was kind of funny lol. I spend a lot of my time at work scouring these forums to learn as much as I can. Got the rod bearings done about 2 weeks after purchase by Malek@MRF. The car seems sound and is super fun to drive, especially at those high RPMs. This is my first M and depending on how things go, I'll plan for a newer one later down the road.

I've checked the new owner sticky and if anyone has any other tips that would be much appreciated. Thanks!!

Looks clean, congrats!!

Only other "new owner" tips I have are to make sure all fluids, filters, plugs, etc. are fresh. At 65K, most hardware should be okay, but unless you have receipts for all of the maintenance, then this would be cheap insurance to keep things mechanically sound.

Congrat! Looks very clean. I did rod bearings too for peace of mind.
I would suggest putting some money aside for the throttle actuators, when you start to get those codes just replace both of them and you should be good.
Enjoy

Congratulations, based on the description of the trunk odor, it appears that you got a smoking deal!

nice car. I almost ordered MR and i've always liked those wheels even though i have ZCP wheels. They look cleaner and more refined and are actually lighter and forged which the zcp aka GTS wheels aren't.

Congrats! Welcome to the family. The car looks gorgeous and in such great condition. Curious, how did the rod bearings look?
